Stu

How are they still watching Jojo? It's going on like four years lol. I didn't think there were that many episodes

Max Savo

They're almost caught up actually. Jojo's has 5 parts of around 22 episodes each (currently animated), but part 3 is like 60 episodes and that took them forever.

Photonium123

There are 152 episodes. It's only been like 2.5 years

Stu

I see. Its confusing because they started it around the same time as hxh and now hxh is long gone.

And most likely a another season of 40 episodes every 2 years until 2024...hopefully.....part 6 7 8 never

Stu

Holy crap I should start watching it then. Have been meaning to anyways

Stu

Oh I could have sworn they were watching it alongside hxh back in like 2016 or something

Weizhe Niu

Remember: tentacle power is always ( )

Envyus

Remote Stands still transfer damage. Automatic Stands that you don't directly control don't

Rare

I think in the manga I think they actually beat up a security guard and stole the plane.

it's a very slow start but once ur deep in it I'm sure it will be a very enjoyable experience :)

Emmanuel

Yeah, wish they kept that. Bruno basically cuffing an officer with his own rifle was cool.

Canadian_Caesar

Just for reference; Part 1 is 9 episodes Part 2 is 17 episodes Part 3 is 48 episodes Part 4 is 39 episodes Part 5 is 39 episodes If part 6 gets an anime adaptation it’ll probably be around 39 episodes. If part 7 eventually gets an anime adaptation it could be anywhere from 48 to possibly even 60 episodes long, since it’s the longest (completed) part.

Emmanuel

Yeah, Narancia has been shown taking damage through Aerosmith before since it's direct control and all. It's also bit harder to distinguish some stand mechanics in the anime. The manga had stand profiles in between chapters that give you some info that just isn't mentioned in the anime. Like Babyface's Son having an actual physical form that can be perceived by non stand users.

I think the boys forgot stand abilities aren’t really hereditary (Ex. The world and gold experience or hermit purple and crazy diamond)

Emmanuel

Notorious B.I.G was doing the writing on the wall. It's "hand" was holding the pen when Giorno found it attached to this arm. The Giorno Giovanna signature was just taunting since technically he did write it.

Lukas Geissler

Well. Dio in Jonathan's body has The World, Jotaro who is a descendant can also stop time. There's no implications it has to be, but also no evidence that it can't be.

Zandorum

Stand abilities are based on personality, physical strength and intelligence. This is why we see people with similar stands even later who aren't related at all such as the similarities between Beach Boy in Part 5 and Wired in Part 7. Jotaro and Dio are both mentally stubborn, physically strong as well as intelligent so although unlikely they have similar ability.

Zandorum

Reminder guys; Anubis from Part 3 was also a Dead Stand where it's user was no longer alive. It's something we've seen once before.

Ricardo

It is a similar situation but it isn’t the same, Anubis was bound to the sword after the user died while B.I.G. isn’t bound to anything. Destroy the sword and you destroy Anubis.

It's a long-range stand, not an automatic one.

Jermaine Tito

hey can an editor please tell them that ranged stands: transfer damage but can be directly controlled. Automatic remote control stands: don't transfer damage but cannot be directly controlled and have some sort of severe limitation or limited tracking mechanism that can be fooled. Many of the enemies in Stardust Crusaders had ranged direct control stands: Tower of Grey, The Lovers, The Hanged Man, and The Empress. All of these stands directly showed damage being transferred, and as they saw in the last episode Clash transfers damage to its user as well. Some Automatic stands are such that the user can't even control when they appear or disappear.

Jermaine Tito

absolutely. I think the idea is that The World really is the power of the Joestar bloodline stolen by Dio, so Star Platinum is that same bloodline reclaiming that power. So it seems like it has to be pretty special circumstances for people to have the same ability. however the thing of stand users linked by blood being able to psychically sense each other's presence seems to be a hard rule.

Jermaine Tito

this writing thing is i think the funniest example of them leaping to a conclusion two seconds before the thing is explained and forgetting the explanation happened, lol

Nina Bowers

They were watching it with H×H, but they chose to start watching H×H two times a week halfway through so they got through it quite a bit quicker than JoJos

Jermaine Tito

I totally understand why it was cut for time, the episode is one of the best-paced in all of golden wind and a lot of shit happens in it. Without that extra time they might have had to truncate Trish's tense scene at the end or do less justice to the first scene where basically the whole gang is fighting an enemy together

Jermaine Tito

it's crazy that jojo is so long that it would take 2.5 years to air the entire series thus far weekly on tv, and the longest parts haven't even been animated yet

Derrick C. Shields

I'm not even sure where the confusion about Clash even comes from. Squalo says multiple times that he is "having Clash" do something or other, so he clearly has direct control. This isn't even just the bros in this case; I remember "why is Squalo taking damage? He has a remote stand" being a bit of a thing for reactors and other people when that episode came out. Weird.

Jermaine Tito

I'm not sure if the script actually omits the word automatic in japanese, but both crunchyroll and somestuffs' subs dont use it at all when koichi is talking about Black Sabbath. the fact that he compares it to SHA helped me make the connection and understand he was describing a new class of stand which SHA was a partial example of (since it was only part of Killer Queen's ability it wasnt a true automated stand like Black Sabbath). The omission of the word "Automatic" in favor of "long distance remote control" there sows the seed of confusion for people who don't make the connection other than on a surface level.
