I couldn't disagree more about Sanemi/Hashiras being "bad guys" for wanting to kill Nezuko. In general and especially from information available to them putting Nezuko down is a correct thing to do. Maybe not necessarily "right" but correct. Unlike us, they haven't seen Nezuko's journey. To them she isn't a child who got dealt a bad card but persevered and retained her relative humanity. To them she is just a demon. An interesting case, sure, but a demon nontheless. She haven't killed anyone yet, but the urge is still there. Who says she won't kill anyone in the future? What right do they have to risk some innocent human's life for the sake of one demon? And the promise of seppuku makes it only worse. Now if Nezuko slips up she, one or more humans as well several top-tier demon slayers will also die thus weakening the Corps. Basically it's like trying to convince jaded DEA agents to work with someone who looks like a druggie, smells like a druggie and has urges of one. As for the whole torturing scene....again it's the correct thing to do. They need to see if Nezuko would succomb if very hungry and severely weakened. "Good and Bad demons." It's irrelevant and is a dilemma which makes me really look forward to their reactions to Promised Neverland. In this and PN's case it doesn't really matter if there are good demons. Like World War II, it doesn't matter if any given german soldier never killed anyone - he is still german and thus must be dealt with. It's a war and a good demon must either contribute to eradication of their kind or be killed.

Must protecc Nezuko. If you don't protecc Nezuko, you're uncultured. :|

What you have to understand is that all of the Hashiras absolutely despise demons, each for their own good reasons. You can't become a pillar demon slayer without dedicating your entire being to the task. To them, the idea that a "good" demon could exist is not only absurd, it's insulting.

2021-07-08 05:33:10 When I first saw this episode, when the Hashiras were disagreeing with The Master, I was like, "Well.... he's the Master, so too bad. Deal with it, bitches." XD Also, imo they were being extremely narrow-minded, except for Shinobu, who was willing to actually LISTEN to Tanjiro before jumping to total judgment. I'm anime only, so I don't know the Hashiras very well, only what we've seen in the first season, and I'm not trying to have any manga readers rant about their situations, as I'm sure they all have their own backstory and circumstances. That said, someone who is actually MATURE (Giyu, Shinobu, the Master) would actually listen to the whole story first, and sit down and actually think about it, rather than jumping to a "resolution" without any sort of deliberation. All that especially after hearing the letter from a former Hashira. Even I were one of the Hashira, and I had still been adamant about accepting Nezuko, I would've saw things in a new light with that letter. Also the Master said he sanctions it. So yeah. I mean, it's a done deal. If you respect him so fucking much, then at least take the time to think about why would HE sanction this? It surely should really mean something for him to do that. That's all, my opinion anyway, how I personally feel about the situation.

Also the fact that Hashira's are labelled killers by the Bros for being the best at hunting demons and wanting to kill them. But where does that leave Inosuke? He sure doesn't give a crap about whether or not a demon is good or not? Does that mean he's going to be a future antagonist?

Daniel Shaw

I for one am all for identifying the Hashira by ice cream flavors

Derrick C. Shields

He said what he means. There are still four episodes counting next week's. What do YOU mean?

Derrick C. Shields

It's little misunderstandings like this about the way a story is trying to communicate a different person's perspective - usually an antagonist or confrontational ally - that make me retroactively worry about how they internalized other stories. Like... "bad person not always JUST bad" is a pretty common story element. Audience bias is a killer, I swear.
