I think the burden is more on Yukine because Yato did tell him that his dark actions afffect him negatively. The reason for their fall out I think is because Yukine is asking for something Yato won’t likely be able to give. Cause they could be a better unit, Yato is not going to be a substitute for Yukine parents. Cause the reality is Yato has done most things in the interest of Yukine so far. Yukine is pining for a normal life but Yato can’t give me that and Yato is aware of that so he’s left Yukine sort of laissez faire to kind of sort out his own feelings. That’s my own take

You guys brought up the slut shaming parallel but I think in this scenario, the regalia are not prisoners. If they wanted to go they would’ve left. Tomone left in episode one by her own will, if Yato really believed her to be a tool he would’ve only let her go when it suited him but he left himself vulnerable against Shinki and let her go. To me Yato is giving Yukine the opportunity to change which is why he hasn’t done anything drastic. Unless Yukine says he wants to leave then he will release him I think. Despite Yukine going to Tenjin, Yukine didn’t actually tell Yato to release. I think that’s why gods don’t like Nora cause you can ask to be released but you choose to be deceitful and take another person’s name. There was even the thing about Yato not wanting his regalia to see people commit suicide so that doesn’t scream someone who sees his regalia as tools. He acknowledges their feelings tries the best he can. Maybe his best isn’t just good enough, but he definitely see them as more than tools. Unless he wouldn’t have let Tomone go without finding a replacement yet. Even The reason why Tomone left him in the first place isn’t because he treated her poorly, it’s because of their poor living conditions. Also I genuinely believe Nora actually cares about Yato.

I think Yukine stole the money before Yato checked the register. Whenever he does something bad Yato immediately feels the sting of the blight. I get Yato should be treating him better but, Yukine needs to be held accountable for his actions. He stole the charity money just because he can. Just like the skateboard he doesn't see it as big deal because he's dead.

"Gods can do no wrong". Humans have their values, morals, ethics and rules, what is considered right and what is wrong, what is a sin. Regalias were people once so they have the common understanding of what is ok and not-so-much-ok. So for the God to act in "a good way" they need a regalia to be their guidepost. (Daikoku/Kuro and Kofuku are great example with all the "no my Lady I told you to stay home and play nice so that the world may live in peace"...) The problem is that everything is subjective -does one see his/her actions legitimate or righteous. One might not see nothing wrong with going all out on a battlefield, someone might feel guilt over the smallest of things. And then there are those who make these "bad" things and trying to justify their actions and wrongdoings, but are still somewhat aware that what they are doing is not approved in the terms of those man-made rules of "what is right and what is wrong". Yeah it's okay to steal a skateboard -> Yato feels being stabbed -> It's okay to steal a skateboard, right? -> stab stab -> Hmm is it really ok if I steal a skateboard?

You say that Yato needs to talk about Nora with Yukine, but he hasn't told anyone about Nora. It's obvious that Nora is someone from a very dark place in his past so why does he "need" to divulge it to Yukine? I think people deserve to keep their own secrets. The fact is that Yato has continuously chosen to use Yukine despite all the pain caused by his misdeeds, so for me, it couldn't be clearer that Yukine can't be replaced like he thinks he can be.
