I was expecting a long discussion since many things happened this episode. Kinda disappointing that it was even shorter than last week's.

Three things to note here: First, the genius of Oberstein to use this opportunity to force the rebellion to happen on his terms. Crush the resistance now while their forces are weak. Even if they choose not to act, Yang will be killed, effectively extinguishing the flame of this rebellion. Yet this is a high-risk game: whether the pieces move as planned by the Empire, or to be outfoxed and outplayed by the underdogs. Second, the Yang faction was caught flat-footed by this rapid development. They needed years to build up a fleet enough to mount an offensive. Now they are forced to act, unprepared as they were. Also, they really need to find a suitable leader to lead this rebellion. Yang seems like the obvious candidate, but in actuality he is not as he hates fighting (war is stupid) and he strongly opposes leading a military insurrection to topple a "democratic" government. Currently, the Yang faction are just playing this out as it goes as they didn't have time to plan so far ahead. Third, it is heavy irony, even hypocrisy that the Yang faction is now starting a military coup d'etat to topple the current alliance government, something that the same group fought to put down years ago.
