oh ok.... I didn't watch much of that series at all but I heard how awful the final season was. I thought they were talking about an anime.

Sigh... The reaction to TPN is ruined anyways, so it really doesn't matter how the poll goes. The biggest "selling point" of this channel for me was in the fact that bros almost religiously avoided any kinds of spoilers and outside information. And gave their genuine first impressions on stuff. This is not the case anymore for TPN. Even if they continue to watch it, the discussions will be based on bros impressions + the ones from editors with a beef on this show. I don't have any family-friendly words to describe my feelings on this situation.

I don't think that's entirely true. AOT is an example; I've watched their reactions since S2, and there always was an underlying point that Jacob had already read the manga while Caleb was going in cold turkey.

Well, obviously, there's a caveat of AOT and other half-blind reactions, but they are exceptions, not the norm. And I find myself skipping a big portion of them.

That's your own decision, I find the AOT reactions better because they're half-blind. It's not that serious anyway, there are other reactors if you want to continue TPN. I would've been fine either way since it's their channel, and if they continued with TPN I'm sure it still would have an audience. To me it feels like the bros aren't that jazzed about continuing it, so they're giving us the option to decide.

Nah, I’m not really that invested in TPN itself and I don’t watch other reactions channels at all. Having thought about it for couple days, now I can say what gets me the most angry here. Like, really angry, enraged even. The fact, that bros were robbed of the ability to potentially enjoy the show. By all those “complainers” who really, and I mean REALLY, disliked the show for one reason or another. If the bros watched the show and hated it as well, I’d be perfectly fine with it. But they don’t have that choice anymore.

It "picking up" from episode 5 onwards is pretty subjective. Now whether or not the bros would've agreed with you on that one is a moot point since they decided to drop it. You may argue about it being a vote, but ultimately they decided to hold a vote. They could've also easily decided not to have a vote and keep watching. You can argue that they were influenced by outside opinion, and that's true. But that's always been true as well for shows they decide to pick up/react to. Doesn't make TPN2 and it's situation any special. The bros being "robbed" also sounds a tad dramatic. You're underselling their ability to make their own decision should outside opinion, their opinion, or facts suggest otherwise with TPN2 ending better than the manga. Nothing's stopping them from picking up from where they left of if the show somehow ends up being good, or watching and enjoying it on their personal time without outside opinion "ruining" it.

There were multiple studies and experiments in psychology on the subject, most famous one being the Asch conformity experiment, but many-many others confirmed its findings. And it all boils down to this: it is extremely difficult to oppose opinions, that you perceive as being the dominant ones. To tie it back here, imagine, that a knowledgeable person, who's opinion you value, comes up and says, that the consensus on the show changed radically after time went by and it's a terrible adaptation overall and will go down in history as one of biggest screw ups of all time. You will not be able to view the show neutrally from there on, I guarantee it. You will focus on the negatives much-much more, thinking to yourself "yeah, he was right, it's not up to par after all". To break out of a very specific skill-set is required, that bros do not have: because they do entertainment/commentary, not critique.
