I'm giving this another shot just for the reaction, I dropped off at episode 4 because I couldn't find a reason to care about any of these characters. It was also giving me massive, this is super average but the animation is good, ala Demon Slayer, vibes. But at least Demon Slayer had a solid emotional hook by the end of episode 1.

It has cool concepts, power system and has the most consistent stunning animation. While I like the characters' motivations but yeah I found it struggling to really care for these characters as the plot just keeps going and we get little good interactions between them.

I honestly feel like the characters have their own individual goals, personalities and motivations that set them apart. They are simple characters that become more refined as the series goes on. I am not just saying this as a fan that just eats things up with no thought or reason, the development that these characters go through especially Yuji and Megumi are incredible. Being a manga reader myself, it DEFINITELY gets more intense and brutal and I seriously get more excited for Gege-sensei's writing.
