lol the editor leaving in that mistake in the beginning. Nice. This episode is packed full of things it was so great watching it for the first time a little while back. The studio puts so much work into this and you have to give them props for it.

May I recommend the Re:Zero Season 2 Breaktime shorts. A small number of them (11, 20 and 24) star Elsa and Meili which helps for characterizing them, some star Otto, others Petra and Frederica ect. A good number of them are canon, taking place 'in between' scenes from this season and some of them actually include some lore and stuff not included in the episode of the main show. They're all about 3 minutes apiece, the hardest part is probably finding one that is actually subbed. As long as you don't go past the equivalent episode you are on in S2 there are no spoilers too (in other words, don't watch S2 Breaktime 23 until you've seen S2 Episode 23 of the main show ect.)

Petra-chan MVP!

Honestly, the next episode was one of my favourite episodes of the year so far. Can't wait for next week.

Echidna reaction here was really quite shocking as its the first time we really have seen her exhibit genuine emotion, and its struck me as very personal at that. Subaru breaks through his first trial, and Echidna congratulates him, but with Emilia, something is different. Then I thought back to the first tea party when Echidna said she has done things she regrets. It made me think that maybe the theme of reflection was not only being applied to Emilia but also Echidna. Maybe, just as Roswaal sees his younger self in Subaru, Echidna sort of sees her prior self in Emilia. And looking at Emilia make the same mistakes willingly is something that disgusts Echidna, and hits a little deeper than other times things have not gone her way. Of course, there's also the possibility that Echidna's regret itself, has something to do with Emilia. Now wouldn't that be very interesting?

I definitely agree with this. I really absolutely adore Echidna's increasing complexity, on top of her cute waifu-ish personality around Subaru. XD
