Kj

I want this to be 2 episodes a week so bad😩

Sawyer_Aik

yeah that 2023 finish line is really.... daunting.

Smash Bran'Discootch

So...2 episodes a week for this one would be amazing. Considering its 112 episodes. Or somewhere around there at least.

There is an abridged. It goes as far as this current arc you're on. It's made by Lanipator [TFS Vegeta] before DBZA's creation. The audio quality could be better [because its early youtube], but it's comedy is gold.

That first fight hasn’t aged well. I can tell there’s well meaning behind it but it still comes off kinda yucky. Still, its pretty clear both boys aren’t mature enough to tackle gender/trans issues but their hearts are in the right place. Thank you Botan though. God i forgot how badass these two got in this arc

Bluff Oranzova

Boys as in Kuwabara and Yusuke not the bros but jic that wasnt clear Edit: on second thought, its still years ahead of other media to even brush the subject and even addresses valid talking points. So its not perfect but it is also attempting to deconstruct toxic cliches in its genre

Mod, there are parts about the show that is self-explained when viewed with a Japanese culture perspective, please kindly pass this memo to the Bros if you see fit. -Enma (閻魔 えんま), a deity of death that rules over hell, a concept originated from Hindu that was incorporated into Buddhism in Japan. Enma read the deeds of the deceased souls from his book and judges which layer of hell the souls should repent in, sinners go to layer of harsher punishment. The name Koenma (コエンマ/こえんま) literally means Kid Enma (子閻魔), which tells the audience his role as a successor to the King Enma (閻魔大王), who currently rules over Spirit World (aka hell). -Oni (鬼 おに), all of Koenma's employees belong to this group, Oni is a type of Yōkai that personified the concepts of strength and terrible brutality. Oni are gigantic ogre-like creatures with one or two horns on their head, often depicted wearing nothing but tiger-skin loincloths and carrying iron clubs called kanabō (金棒 かなぼう spiked two-handed war club in feudal Japan). They are sometimes tasked as jailors in hell working for Enma, they are usually blue, red or black in color. The metal club that the Bros were talking about in the ED is a kanabō. Oni and kanabō are common concept in Japan that the phrase "Oni with an iron club" (鬼に金棒 oni-ni-kanabō), that is, to be invincible or undefeatable is still a common say even in modern language. -Yuki-onna (雪女 ゆきおんな) "snow woman", a type of beautiful humanoid Yōkai. Their stories usually involved with men. Though not exactly a Yuki-onna, Yukina is said in the last episode to be a Kōrime (氷女 こおりめ) "ice woman". Thus another famous Yōkai design concept. -Yōkai (妖怪 ようかい), a collective term for strange beings or monsters in Japanese folklore. Although spiritual in nature and often involved with souls, most possess physical forms that humans can interact with. Much like different types of Demon in Dnd, most Yōkai is known as a race or archetype. For example, Koenma's employees in the Spirit World are all Oni (鬼 おに), which is implied by both their visual designs and relationship with the Enma (閻魔 えんま). This term has strong cultural reference and is different from the term monsters (魔物 まもの) that is used in most other shows. It is not clearly expressed by the Dub as they use the term Demon to substitute Yōkai whereas it is usually a substitute for monsters (魔物 まもの). -Reikan (霊感 れいかん) spirit sense, since the Bros watched Mob Psycho 100 so this is relatable, Mob has all the stereotypical spirit-enable abilities one can think of, including senses. So Kuwabara being established as a max spirit sense person would make sense if he can find and communicate with Yukina, who is a Yōkai.
