Well, y’all are lucky! Many of your wishes will be granted. I’m so excited to see y’all’s reaction to the next episode. I’m assuming I’ll hear a lot of cheering and appreciation at certain points. Kyoko’s story of how she became who she is and how she was given an opportunity to relax will be in a future OVA! But we cherish the stories we get of her through other people’s points of view, and the way her lessons of encouragement helped the generation she looked after.

I'm glad you guys brought up that Tohru's behavior when it comes to not thinking of herself is unhealthy. :D

I love this episode for the simple fact that it puts a focus on Uo 1 of my favorite characters which I say about a lot of characters in the show but I think that’s because of how well written the characters in this show are that I love so many of them so much. She's just a character who has such an interesting and fun design and personality and is so important for Tohru as a character that you can’t help but want to know more about her. So far we understand her but only in bits and pieces really so it's great to get an episode diving into her character. Aside from doing well at setting up the dark/emotional atmosphere I love how you have a hard time telling which character the scene is about because of how dark it is hiding the hair color. I love how genuinely funny Uo is at the pool but I love how it’s there to show her caring about Tohru and how much she very often doesn’t take care of herself which is a pretty big part of her character right now. It’s hilarious how much Uo loves to tease people especially Kyo so being able to do that while also getting Tohru a gift must have been just a delight. I also really love how this show presents slowly developing feelings romantic or otherwise and teenage angst/awkwardness. We have been told stuff about her before but these flashbacks help us understand her more and how even though she was a badass she wasn’t happy and certainly wasn’t healthy. It’s interesting to see what things were like before Kyoko passed away as well as getting to see her from other people’s perspective like others have said. It’s great to see more of her and more ways in which she was an amazing person. The reason I think Uo was so uncomfortable was because it was making her face how bad her own home situation was. I love how all of her rebellion and dangerous behavior was just to protect herself and create a shield for her heart but when she goes home she can’t escape her feelings and pain. That is just such a real and dark thing shown in a really great way with the animation and sound effects. I think you’re analysis/discussion about Uo and speculation about Kyoko was interesting/engaging, thought provoking and well said. I can’t wait to see what you guys think about the next episode especially after this great reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
