Made it early. Waited for this before I hit the bed and as usual your upload did not disappoint. Thank you always Caleb and Jacob!

I think Uotani was struggling with feeling like she deserved that wholesome loving environment. That's why she says that even if her dad had dinner ready for her when she got home, she wouldn't accept it. Deep down she felt unworthy of that lifestyle. This episode is also really good in the dub. This show is SO GOOD. So glad you guys are enjoying it <3

Oooo! Hanajima focused episodes are going to blow ya'll away! I'm so excited for that. Arisa, Hana, and Tohru's friendship means so so much to me and I really appreciate you two going all out for your love for them. It's funny how main character each side character feels once you get the allowance to know them truly. Also, I appreciate the small snippets of the experiences of living with fostering. I was a child who was put into foster care the first five years of my life, so I don't have too much recollection of it, but it's a very tricky and sometimes extremely depressing topic. Just because someone is different than you, looks different than you, and lives differently than you does not mean they're not family once you share that experience together. A home is a home as long as it's welcoming. Kyoko had enough love to share to be that foster parent for whomever decided she was that home. Oh, gosh, I'm tearing up just typing that. I love found family stories for this very reason, as I know you two do too.

I'm afraid you two have cursed yourselves in saying that Hanajim'as episodes wouldn't be as emotionally resonant. Episode 22 is going to hit you guys like a semi truck.

Toooooo good. I cri everytime. Hana and Uo's backstory eps always hit me in the damn kokoro so hard. Her friendship with Tohru is so good T_T And Kyoko...oh Kyoko, what a character she is. Love her to bits

The Hana episodes can come fast enough. But at the same time I really love next episode and that can't come fast enough😭😭

Buying tissues and a nice tissue holder in advance was a good investment.

I love that this episode is a continuation of last episode and its so great to see how much you guys enjoyed it. There's so much great stuff in this with the interactions between Tohru and Uo and how their friendship developed. I love Uo’s introspection because it is so meaningful and while it’s so sad to see her realization that she wants a happy family but doesn’t understand why because the person she’s protecting herself as should not care. I love how immediately Tohru goes to comfort her and it’s really cute, wholesome and heartwarming to see them peacefully sleeping next to each other. The idea that she was lonely the entire time makes so much sense considering her past and I love how Tohru inspires her to be better simply by being her friend and showing her love sometimes that’s all someone needs. It’s interesting to see how much Kyoko helped her and I love how she says adults and children/teens are the same even if they don’t always act that way and it’s fantastic how it connects to another flashback of her talking about not ever wanting to lose the feelings she had as a child. It sucks that people were suspicious of their friendship and making Uo doubt herself but I love how the small gesture of friendship of being saved a cupcake/muffin gave her all the more reason to leave the gang. The following scene is brutal but it truly was brave and it’s so badass to see Kyoko show up like she did and I am confident she kicked all their asses. I love the conversation they have after especially Kyoko’s philosophy/thoughts on life with how beautiful, poignant they were and it’s so true that all you can do when you make a mistake is learn from it and it’s unfortunate not everyone can do that. Also it’s so heartwarming/heartbreaking to see how desperately Uo wants to be Tohru’s best friend and for her to be proud but the ending of the flashback is so uplifting. I think she kept the memory to herself mostly because of how private and important it was to her but also wanting a memory of Kyoko for herself since Kyoko helped her just as much as Tohru did. Finally the way the situation with the delinquents in the present is resolved is hilarious and amazing with the reaction to Uo’s words. I very much relate to you guys since the first time I watched this episode I cried like a baby and it was no different this time. Great discussion/reaction and I can’t wait for next episode reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
