I was waiting for this episode😭

It always make me giggle how people are always so chocked at the fact that Hana has real power. People transforming in animal? That's fine. A girl with telephatic powers? Press X to doubt Always love to hear y'all's thoughts tho

"Bless your ditzy, golden heart" is a great line, lol.

I always love when Kyoko shows up and drops some of her sagely wisdom. Her life had such a huge impact. It falls in line with one of the themes of the show in that the past still holds great power over the present.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but the "memory erasing" that Hatori does is not magic or telepathy. It's a type of strong hypnosis that's been passed down by Sohma family doctors to help keep the curse a secret. Hatori learned it from his father, who used to be the family doctor before him.

this is one of my fav eps. Hana's backstory too strong T_T One of my fav things about this backstory is that she actually has nice parents. For fuckin once in a series where a character has freak paranormal powers, their family accept them and love them regardless. Based mom and dad and ofc megumi.

I love this episode..! Still can't believe that her power is real! Although it does makes sense. Also, her family is just so sweet!

Here we go with another one of my favorite episodes of season one. I love it especially because Hana is one of my favorite characters. The first scene is so rough finding out exactly how her powers are just classic telepathy and is also emotional hearing negative thoughts and I love the stylistic choice of showing the darkness slowly engulfing her. Also I’m sorry but it’s hilarious seeing Jacob’s excitement turn to immediate regret at the start of the reaction. I love how we get her family and how caring and worried they were basically at the start. It’s also fantastic getting such an in-depth look into Hana’s character here. It’s healthy and just part of who she is in the present but it sucks that her quiet personality originally stemmed from not wanting to cause trouble for her family. I want to say these bullies are exaggerated and they are but unfortunately I’m sure there are kids who are bullies that actually are like this. It’s so depressing to see her be so certain she should be punished especially with how they use the darkness as well as animate her eyes. I’m so glad her family is there to be so supportive and give her so much love. It’s just unfortunate that it wasn’t enough to stop her from punishing herself from an emotional standpoint which is rough to watch. I love how wise and loving Megumi is wanting to help his sister especially with how young he is. Also that prayer of his is 1 of the more emotional parts for me and even though it’s different it hits me harder being an older brother to my sister. Seeing those bullies burning her is so intense and makes me cringe because even though we have seen worse in the show this is more visceral to me personally. I love how her 1st meeting with Ouoh and Tohru is both comedic and heartwarming which fits these characters especially because for Ouoh the major reason was making sure Hana wasn’t going to eat alone. I love how she was able to be happy with them but it’s heartbreaking to see that one event was almost able to change things. Before I forget I completely agree that the thematic element of the sunset and shadows is fantastic. Seeing Hana hold up her hands so defensively and with such fear just hurts. I love that they were there for her and convinced her she deserved to be happy. Also the holding hands, head touch scene with the thematic sunlight is so cathartic. I’m glad that we once again got some great Kyoko advice towards the end. So much of your discussion was really insightful and I’m really happy that you guys love Hana as much as I and many others do. I think it was here where you brought up how much of a difference having loving and supportive people around you makes in life which I very much agree with. I loved this reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
