I always thought Yuki’s part in this episode was more about seeing Kyo had his dark secret exposed, he feels the lid on his feelings is getting harder to keep in place.

Next week, for Christmas, they're going to start season two and meet people so dear to my heart. I can't wait! Thank you by the way, you are the highlight of my years, your clairvoyance and empathy and investment in this great story are making my Wednesday better. :) Have an amazing end of the year!

After those episodes with Ayame calling Shigure "Gure-san" all the time, I didn't expect them to not clue in that the "something called Gure-nii" that Rin mentioned is Shigure, especially with him being the focus of the immediate following scene. Well, it's not particularly important right now anyway but I just felt it would've been a good opportunity to hear some interesting theory crafting.

I really REALLY hope they do the next season reaction in English Dub.(In my opinion it’s a lot better and hits harder than the sub.)

I want to make the main focus of this comment the parent/child relationship between Kazuma and Kyo as well as Kazuma as a character in general. I love how it starts with him truly treating Kyo as a son pushing against the terrible whispers and derision from the rest of the Soma family. And I love how genuinely heartwarming it is that he was lifting him up and was able to help Kyo see the outside world. It makes the fact that he didn’t view himself as a father for a long time sadder. I love and it was so interesting to get insight into the previous cat holder even just a little bit and it just looks bleak. It really sucks that Kazuma has such guilt over what happened to his grandfather and treating him badly believing the terrible everyone said about the Cat zodiac. Also it seems like his grandfather's life towards the end was very empty and depressing. It’s great to see the reason he originally took in Kyo change from wanting to atone to having genuine love for him and seeing him as a son. All the moments we see of Kyo as a kid with him is just really sweet and cute and if it doesn’t fill your heart with joy I don’t know what will. Honestly Kazuma feeling bad about forcing Kyo to confront his feelings shows self-awareness and understanding which is good but like I said in my previous comment and Kyo confirms was necessary otherwise he never would have confronted his emotions. I think it’s great that Tohru sees how much of a father he really is for Kyo just from a short time seeing how they act together and speak about each other. It makes sense that they would work out their feelings through a spar and I love how it ends with them acknowledging each other as father and son and Kyo resolving to be more independent. Although it was sad/painful to learn that the reason why Kyo never had before this because of the part of his character that never wants to hurt anyone close to him even if to them it’s not the case. Also Tohru’s excitement over seeing martial arts is adorable. It’s surprising how much funnier Kyo trying rather admirably not getting angry at Yuki and only partially succeeding is then just fighting. I will have more to say about Haru and Yuki but there is definitely interesting stuff and character development being set up here. I like how Yuki’s development is not just connected to himself and Tohru but Kisa as well. I think the reason he’s able to be so smooth and say the things he does to Tohru is because of the trust between them. Also the only way I can describe her reaction to this stuff is adorkable. Finally I wonder what you will think of Rin. Everyone coming together at the end of the episode is really heartwarming even with the cliffhanger of things to come. Your reactions are always so raw, emotional and hype and are my favorite parts of your channel besides the in-depth discussions. You have had discussions about all sorts of topics related to family but it helps me put into words how important good and bad representations of family and all its shapes and sizes is and that found family and adopted family type things are just as important as blood family if not more important sometimes because of choice. Finally some interesting thoughts on Yuki and I’m not surprised you didn’t have that much to guess about the next season with how this episode ends. Great reaction I can’t wait for the start of season 2 I have to get caught up myself I’m a little over halfway through season 2. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
