MILD SPOILERS:............. them saying that they think Shigure would be the first to sacrifice himself for others 💀 that's so funny cuz Shigure's whole thing is that he does everything for himself and he's the most selfish character lmaooo

Mini spoiler I guess ~~ They keep trying to force fit Shigure into such a “good guy” spotlight when it’s hinting in almost each episode that he’s really not . He even declares himself “I’m the worst”. Why are they so dead set on it when they are usually so perceptive? 😂

While that is superficially true, I don’t think it’s entierly correct. I think there are thing he does that are genuen, but he makes himself out to be worse so we disregard them. Not that he isn’t selfish and doesn’t use people, but I don’t think a person who is as lost to it as he claims to be would be aware of it at all. They would simply assume that the world revolves around them. I think it’s part of his trauma. He feels he is an awful person, and so does things to prove himself correct. While he isn’t the best person in the world he does do a few things that I can’t see how wold benefit himself by going out of his way to do them. Like telling Toru to slow down and look at each piece of laundry she has to do in stead of the mountainous whole. He is complicated and ambiguous. And also with hatori later. It’s just makes me go hmmm. A lot.

Man I can't wait to see their reactions to Shigure as we get further into the story.

What a great set up episode not a lot of plot progression but everything about this episode seems to be preparing the audience for character progression. It was great to get confirmation that the boy with the hat was Yuki especially because I chose to think it was him the 1st time this was brought up. It is still so surprising how trustworthy you find Shigure don’t get me wrong I love the guy but his methods are in my opinion much more sinister/dangerous than you think. He is literally putting characters in danger even if it will ultimately benefit with ending the curse it doesn’t really justify or make him right. Although I do think I understand why you guys want to think the best of him considering no matter what he may say he has a good heart inside with certain scenes. I saw the scene with Rin and Shigure in a completely different light with the show trying to make us doubt him. I love how the show makes sure to show how a lot of characters have deep-seated issues that they are being introspective about even if a lot of them are not able to face those issues completely or at all like Tohru. It’s so great to see Yuki being so introspective and self-aware starting to recognize his problems more easily and getting closer to facing them. He may not be ready to talk about and confront those things yet but when he is it will be very emotional and cathartic. Seeing how vulnerable he can be is very sweet. It is extremely heartbreaking to see Tohru basically trying to convince herself everything is okay when it isn’t she simply doesn’t want to and is not able to face her own personal trauma the voice acting is so good. The last thing I want to say is it’s amazing how Shigure is able to manipulate Akito so subtly simply because he could never believe someone would go against him but it’s awful that he’s egging on the person with violent tendencies. I loved the reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
