it's impressive how you guys manage to over-analyse shit even in a show like this LMAO great reaction been waiting for this for so long

Michael Kerr

btw, for any anime-onlies, you should just disregard that post-credit scene. It's non-canon, and weirdly placed since they've confirmed they're continuing the story in the upcoming movie... so like, I have no idea why it's even in there at all (unless they didn't know if they were gonna be continuing, which I doubt as the movie announcement came right after the anime finished? or maybe the season was just finished way in advance, I dunno).

John Spartan

It not in the manga but it does not break the canon at all. It's a time jump to spring and the characters are pretty much actin like that period in the manga. I won't go into detail tho since it may be soft spoilers

Pedro Lobo

The festival was in december, Kaguya said that college in the USA starts in october, so they have almost one whole year until Shirogane goes to the USA. In the aftercredits scene the flowers had bloomed, so we can take as it's probably march or april there.

Michael Kerr

You're right about that, and from a manga reader's perspective, obviously we know how things stand by spring. But I still think it's a strange decision to include it when they were planning on continuing (unless they actually did finish production before a decision was made on continuing, which is probably the case).

Pedro Lobo

The season ended adapting the manga chapter n°137. The movie that releases in the end of this year will adapt the arc that's from chapter n°142 to 151 of the manga, so it will be a direct sequel to the story. And the manga is at chapter n° 278 now, so, expect a few more seasons after the movie.

So I feel the need to come to Kaguya's defense here, it's never actually said that the kiss was bad. In the end when it says she loses by "messing up" they mean she messed up by doing a French kiss instead of a regular kiss. It's a mistake because you usually wouldn't French someone unless you have been in a relationship for a while. Kaguya Frenches Miyuki using Nagisa's relationship as a reference point, but she fails to account for the fact that Nagisa and Tsubasa have been dating for a while and thus are much further along intimacy-wise than you would be at the beginning of a relationship. It may not be referring to her "messing up" technique-wise.

Honor Rosenfeld

To be fair, Love is War does everything to encourage it. You watch this show long enough then you start overanalyzing it just as much as the characters😂

You guys are idiots

chibears .

with this wrap up I guess Saturdays are now season two of slime, very excited about that

No, it definitely makes sense that they'd put that scene there for anime-onlies. With the manga we didn't have much time between the cultural festival and the aftermath, but imagine how anime-onlies would feel if it ended there without some closure that they are going to be in a relationship. Caleb and Jacob were just arguing for a huge portion of the discussion on whether or not they properly communicated their feelings or not. Besides it doesn't contradict the canon at all so I think it was a really smart move to make the gap between the season finale and the movie more palatable.

I can only advise to read chapter 138 of the manga. It's the full version of the Festival afterparty, that instead of fading into this "after all she wants him to confess" thing actually goes into more detail of what happened. And it's probably in the top 3 of funniest chapters in the entire manga.

For a sec I was like, "The thumbnail is wrong, the kiss is in E13..." but then I realized you gave us a very nice treat and did both E12 and E13! :D
