So, when Makima was meeting with those suits, and she mentioned "one looks promising and another interesting," she addressed each "one" as "ippiki." The suffix "-iki" is used only when counting non-human animals. So just really leaning into the whole dog theme, and literally counting Power and Denji as dogs. I've only read the manga in English, so I'm not sure if that's actually how it read in Japanese or not, either way it's a nice touch.

Good comment. I can add to that, that it's actually the suffix "hiki" or 匹 and not "iki" and it's used specifically to count smaller animals. Generally smaller than humans.
