You DO know that it was Raphael performing the ritual/spell, right? I'm pretty sure you knew. I mean, there's no way you couldn't have known. XD The voice, and the way she spoke gave it away completely. The way she says, "Notice." The red eyes are also implying that Raphael is controlling Rimuru's body in that moment, but not as much as the very clear voice and line delivery that's 100% Raphael, or Great Sage as we have known her.

One thing of note about Great Sage (Now Raphael) Its never explained in the anime but basically Great Sage and The Words of the World are two different things. The Words of the World can be heard by anyone in certain conditions, for example when gaining a new skill At the beginning Rimuru wasnt able to interact with Great Sage which is why for a major portion of his time in the labyrinth where he found Veldora (I think he spends half a year or so there) he didnt hear anything from the skill. As a way to resolve this problem Great Sage found a way, through the Words of the World, to speak and interact with Rimuru. Thats why they sound the same. Great Sage basically abuses the system of The Words of the World to interact with Rimuru, which in itself is already nuts

ive been looking forward to this episode since they started season 2. you thought rimuru was OP as it is, well now the real fun begins.

One thing to note ... the Anime did sanitize Megiddo a bit ... in both the novel and the manga Rimuru purposefully misses some shots ... and only does crippling damage instead of killing everyone, like slicing off limbs, or just making a wound in a sides etc to spread fear panic and break their spirit .... Also we are shown that no all in the army are complete assholes, in the manga we have a scene where one of the soldiers is disgusted by others talking about having their way with the female monsters and only is here because of the reward so he can provide for his children ... Rimuru actually lands before him and he does not plead for his life only that his family be spared ... Rimuru still kills him but as a last mercy assures him he has no plans to go after people outside of this army. Another thing to point out by the time Rimuru returned to the town square is that Yome and all the humans that were left in the city had to leave they were taken to a dorm at the edge of town and protected by a Barrier - most were moved there even before ... the reason the monsters were not just praying they were releasing their auras to the full to fill the town with magicules, they normally keep their auras suppressed as to much magicules is poisenous to Humans and even weaker monsters ... Its why no one ever approached the sealed Veldora ... only monsters, majins or people with extremely high resistance could have gotten close to him and not die from magic poisoning. And if all the evolved monster in the city unleashed their auras humans and weak monsters like unevolved goblins could not survive in the town not even approach it. And still it was not enough to bring everyone back ... you needed 2 greater demons and probably old ones at that to supplement it... that is how crazy what Raphael pulled off ... Also Mjuran was freaking out about the fact that a skill is acting on its own ...

I thought that a lot of the weaker monsters were removed from the town square area as the evolution progressed, and I don't remember the monsters purposely releasing their magicules, only Rimuru, because of the evolution which makes the body less physical and more spiritual. Also Rimuru has previously flooded the zone somewhat (didn't want to hurt any of the weaker monsters and humans) to keep the souls in the dome from dissipating.

Mjurran in particular had ended up under Clayman's control because she knew her life was ending soon (she wasn't human even then so was pretty old). Her life's passion was the study of magic, and Clayman was offering time to do more of it. So when Raphael performed the Resurrection she realized she would never get to that level. Actually I still wonder where knowledge of the spell came from considering Great Sage had already said to Rimuru that she couldn't find any spell capable of raising the dead.

Diablo8x

In the novel at least it is stated during the counterattack planing meeting, we are told that he is releasing the magicules to fill the area out, and wants Shuna to create the replacement barrier after that we get "The rest of the people in town will pitch in, too, of course " And some other hints in the later text. as you mention what the Great Sage said it could not find anything ... which would indicate it was something that was beyond the ability of a unique skill to reach. That would explain why it would turn to evolving itself and to such a ridiculous degree ....

myst0dreamer

Wouldn't that mean it wouldn't even have the 3.14% chance if the Unique Skill wasn't able to reach the method? But I see your point, maybe an improved All of Creation would make it possible? As for Rimuru saying he wanted to release the magicules, does that mean everyone? Plenty of humans were still hanging around the square as Rimuru's evolution began, but they had to leave later. I guess I'll have to go back and reread it again. Edit:. Maybe Raphael created the spell herself after evolving?
