There's a lot to digest here and apparently my memory isn't good because I forgot some of what happened in the novel. But some of what you say, especially in the first two paragraphs, are your understanding of what happened. I had formed some different theories. Honestly, the source material is so voluminous that we focus on different facts to support our theories. It would seem to me that leaving the cave would make Rimuru's aura less noticeable. And why would the open door to the cave mark a boundary to Veldora's aura if at the same time his aura is producing monsters in the forest? These are just examples.

About the whole "claiming the throne of Demon Lord" they talked about, In Tensura there are 2 things called Demon Lord: One is "simply" a title, currently there are 10 Demon Lords, Milim, Carrion, Frey, Ramiris and Clayman representing 5 of them. They all "sit on the throne". The other thing are beings that went through the evolution to becoming a "True Demon Lord" like Rimuru just did (and others did before) While Rimuru has evolved into a true demon lord he currently isn't officially holding the Title of Demon Lord. On the other hand Rimuru suspected before his own evolution that Clayman may hold the title of Demonlord but might not actually have evolved into a True Demon Lord yet, and him starting this war was his attempted at evolving. So what Rimuru was saying is that he is gonna claim the title of Demon Lord, preferably taking it from Clayman when he murders him.

Yeah, I think of it as There is the job title or label "Demon Lord" and then there is the race "Demon Lord" The difference is Clayman has the power (and seed) to kill 10,000 humans, while Milim and Rimuru actually did kill 10,000 humans. But to the humans who made this classification system, the difference is negligible. Also an interesting note is Milim was about 10x stronger than Rimuru (or maxed out Sage's scouter) but when Rimuru evolved, just changing race to Demon Lord multiplied his power by 10x.

This is the first episode where I can say i was disappointed, which is so strange to me because there is so much I love about the episode ... But the issue regarding character and world consistency is just to much for me to ignore ... even from just the anime point of view. The main problem is the aftermath of Veldoras release up to the party ... and to a smaller degree the scene with Fuze bursting into the room. Veldora first there are 2 main issues with the scene even from just the anime perspective ... 1. Veldora releasing his aura outside of the cave 2. the Complete non-reaction to this by any character ... there is a smaller issue connected to 1 iii. the way Veldoras Aura has no effect on the surrounding at all. The scene is "cool and funny" and its been a long for most people from season 1 and 4 months since S2 part 1 ended when this came out ... But as a manga and novel reader I was expecting something very different. So it jumped out immediately for me But even disregarding the manga and novel. Just from the Anime perspective: Right at the beginning when Rimuru swallows Veldora the very next scene we are told his disappearance thowes the surounding countries into chaos ... and that was when he was sealed in and inside a cave under a lot of rock... Second item to consider how did Benimaru and co react when Milim made her first unexpected visit ... We are later also told that Charybdis that giant monster was born from a cloud of magical aura released by Veldora ... From S2 part one ... one of the thing brought up during the meeting before the massacre of the Falmuth Army was that when their connection to Rimuru was cut the panicked and were not able to take proper action or even properly evaluate the situation. And while Rimuru did say he did not want to be disturbed while in the cave Veldora did his super-saiyan impression outside so that order does not apply here. So considering all that does the reaction of all the characters at that time make sense? would the monsters in the city really just go around their business as if nothing happened, and thats not even taking into consideration that there are thousands of refugee from people that are known to act first think later ... At the very least Soei, Benimaru, the 3 Beesktears, Gabiru would be rushing there to find out what is happening, and if the city may need to be evacuated because of a rampaging sentient calamity. Ansd even with that while most of the world is not looking, there are people who are at the look out, for the Storm Dragon, or people that have vested intrest to have an eye out for thing happening around tempest so they should be quick to feel that kind of outburst ... And there are people who because of how the anime did the scene should be quite close to feel such an outburst traveling to tempest ... so the Storm Dragons reappearance should have been among the first thing they ask about when the arrive ...

The second scene with Fuze bursting into the room while a funny scene and most of it is fine .. but it does not make sense in context The city was just a few days ago raided by by a group of armed humans that slaughtered a lot of people ... so there really is this second group of armed humans thundering into town would not be stopped and at least asked what they are here for if not confronted with a group of guards that would notify Rigur in the meeting. And if there was a talk are you telling me no one told Fuze the war is over already? In addition the way the scene is done Rimuru complaining to Raphael about the notifications does not make any sense since there is no evidence that he was informed about Fuze ... so clearly Raphael selects what he brings up to Rimurus attention - at least in the anime, which in and of itself is out of character.

Well not race more an evolutionary stage ... since Rimuru for example is not of the Demon Lord Race - his race is Demon Slime... its more what like what will be talked about later with enlightened and saint ... Also Milim was 10* stronger while not being serious ... so in reality she was far more than that

The third lesser point is about Veldoras aura as mentioned a cloud of his Magic aura gave birth to Charybdis that masive monster ... And even in this episode while its treated as throw away joke line, when Veldora says "Not many people actually reach me alive" he is not joking... His aura is so huge its literally lethal to weaker being ... say before Demon Lord gift Benimaru and most of the other Kijin before the harvest festival could have made it to Veldora and not die from magic poisoning. almost nobody else ... maybe Gabiru and Ranga but even most of their subordinates would not be able to get that close or even if they could survive get out without severe aftereffects which is why again it does not make sense for Rimuru to take Veldora out before he cane suppress his Aura ... or that most of the plant life in the surrounding did not wither and die when he went super saiyan outside ....

Yes, I believe that Great Sage was unable to accurately assess Milim's power level because Great Sage said at the time she was "at least" 10x's greater in power than Rimuru when GS first tried to evaluate her. I think the Skill was simply not capable of evaluating that level. Even after Rimuru evolved, Milim is still much, much stronger (at least regarding raw power) than Rimuru.

To become an official Demon Lord there are two methods: be recommended by two other Demon Lords, which seems to expand the total number of Demon Lords, or defeat (i.e., kill) another Demon Lord and take his place. If you do not announce that you are claiming to be a Demon Lord, the other Demon Lords won't bother you, but if you do, you had better be prepared to back that up, or the other Demon Lords will come after you.

I never even thought about what happens to the plants. But I think people did notice Veldora, they say in the anime, they felt Veldora's return. They do kind of minimize the townspeople's reactions compared to the novel and manga. Also, Veldora seemed to only really spawn monsters in the cave or enclosed space. At least every time we see it happen it is under those conditions. They don't really describe anywhere how, where or why Veldora generated the magicules that generated Charybdis. I think humans who are a distance away might not notice, remember the 2nd episode where Eren barely noticed Rimuru's aura when the entered the cave. They do mention that the Church probably already knew Veldora was back. Some people must be monitoring the situation but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone is informed about it. It is strange that Raphael didn't inform Rimuru of Fuze's approach, nor did anyone else notice either, or they failed to report it. It is also strange that Rimuru doesn't mention toning down Veldora's until they are outside the cave. Maybe they are far enough away from the town? Also, it seems that when Veldora was flying around rampaging in the past, I only recall mention of his making active attacks, they never mention iirc passive magicule-based negative effects.

The essays here are craaaaazy

Diablo8x

About the cave ... the reason is the sealed part of the cave was where Veldoras magic was much stronger than the rest of the cave ... meaning Rimuru who was influenced by Veldora ... blended into the background ... if you go back and lok at when Eren reacted ... it was when he passed the door the moment his aura did not match the surrounding ... also while strong Rimurus aura is nowhere near as strong as Veldoras ... While it it is true the Anime never mentioned much about Veldoras magic aura generating monsters its one of the reasons strong monsters like the Knight Spider, or the Fire ents appear in the forest ... that is how much influence it has and why people noticed almost immediately. It then results in a feedback loop ... strong monsters spawn generating more magic aura causing more spawning ... It is something that will come up in session 3 if they dont cut it ... since the evolution caused the monsters aura to become stronger and as that increases it becomes an issue for humans and even weaker monsters. Its why Yome did not stay with Mjuran at the plaza when Rimuru did the Revival ... the concentration of Magicules there would have killed him. (The humans that remained in the city had to be gathered and protected by a barrier - courtesy of Eren ...) The issue is not that they did not notice ... its that they did not react appropriate to their characters, and the circumstances they were in. That is the main issue here ... Well Clayman for wan would have some agents in the surrounding, not to close but he would want to know what the hell happened since his play went awry, and there is no wayeven a bit away the would not notice that magi aura show Veldora put on in the air ... Then there is Gazel ... he was able to have a sense of Rimurus strength even as he was suppressing his aura to the max hard to suggest he would not notice an he is at that point half way there if not closer .. The thing is all of this is a Anime self inflicted as none of these issues are present in the manga or Novel. In both Rimuru requests Veldora to learn controlling his aura inside of the came ... we get the whole super saiyan gig just inside ... it is specifically mentioned that this is necessary as Veldoras normal Aura would kill a lot of people in the city just outright ... Its also slower - takes multiple days before he is successful illustrating just how massive it is. Also when they Emerge there is a crowd gathered at the entrance with the BEastmen ready to storm the cave to find out what the hell is going on. Diablo is blocking them since Rimuru ordered not to be bothered in there ... with a worried Benimaru trying to mediate between the 2 sides and a crowd gathered since they were worried but would not go against Rimurus orders ... With Fuze its still a comedic scene the reactions remain its the location that the main difference here ... Raphael notifies Rimuru about the group of armed humans coming and to prevent any incident he and the others meet them at the edge of town, the rest happens the same with Fuze basically getting a stroke :D but since Rimuru stops them first there is no issue with them going trugh time and no one reacting or them not being informed by anyone about the war being over .. since there was no chance to do that, and during the discussion Raphael informs him about Gazel ... which then prompts Rimuru to say to tone the notifications down
