I think Mob didnt have enough time to throttle his barrier at the end if he went too hard the driver wouldve been severely injured I also low-key like Mezato I even think Mob actually likes her just not as much as Tsubomi for instance in S2 when she tried to get him to run for student council President he was disappointed that it wasnt a confession and in this season when he was talking to her on the phone he got the gigachad Mob voice when asking her if she was also interested like I root for Mob and Tsubomi because thats who he likes but if he ended up with Mezato I wouldn't be disappointed

I wonder if people still remember the context of Ritsu's misunderstanding of Tsubomi lol. Tsubomi lied to Reigen about liking someone because she wanted to test his trustworthiness. At the time in season 2, her friend wanted to ask Reigen about stuff. Tsubomi who noticed Mob in Reigen's pictures assumed that Reigen recognises her and would try to convince Tsubomi to "give up on her crush". Reigen however never noticed it was Mob's love interest and just gave Tsubomi honest advice, which ironically convinced Tsubomi that he's trustworthy. In other words, Tsubomi doesn't actually have a person of interest at all, but Ritsu misunderstood that interaction completely just as Tsubomi has.

You know what? That's an interesting take on that scene as I never considered it from the perspective that Tsubomi arrived to the conclusion she could trust Reigen because she was testing to see if being able to recognize her would influence the advice he ultimately gave. My interpretation of that scene had always been that Tsubomi, despite not interacting with Mob as close friends, was always looking out for him and holds his best interests at heart. This is supported by the iconic moment at the end of S2 ep 1 where she's watching him from afar and praising his efforts with Emi. This is also supported further when she is nearly ready to cheer him on during the school marathon. This is all to say that Tsubomi actually respects Mob, understands his integrity better than most people, and values who he is as a person (which is especially supported later on). When Tsubomi recognizes Mob in the picture collage behind Reigen, I got the impression that she tested Reigen not only to look out for the girl, but to see if Mob was hanging around good company. I would even go as far as to say that Tsubomi, while having some slight interest in her friend's dilemma, didn't even really care all that much about whether she was getting reliable advice UNTIL she saw the picture of Mob. However, at that point, it no longer was a matter of whether her friend was getting good relationship advice, it was whether or not Mob was hanging around a trustworthy person and not a slimy guy, explaining her investment in testing Reigen. Notice how before all that, her attention is just drifting around with no real aim. After Reigen's neutral but genuine advice, Tsubomi comes to the conclusion that Reigen is probably alright, a view that is mostly being influenced by her assumption that Mob seems to trust him as he wouldn't hang around Reigne, hence the cut to the photo of them as Tsubomi is explaining all this. For me, this always felt like this was the show's way of hinting to the idea that while Tsubomi's relationship with Mob has become estranged, and was responsible for the insensitive comment that made him withdraw from people, she has always genuinely cared for him

While I do think Tsubomi looks out for Mob a little, she's also been shown to be enough of a strong character without relating all of her actions to Mob the MC. I'm taking the scene as literal as possible and that's the conclusion I've got lol.
