There some great stuff in this episode ... but it gets dragged down by the fact that the anime skips over motivation... like with Milim pretending to be controlled ... we know why she did it ... she made a promise with Frey ... Milim sniffed out with her instincts and enhanced senses that Clayman is targeting Rimuru, while Fray found herself in Claymans debt as he helped deal with Charybdis, also becomes suspicious of clayman especially when he request help controlling Milim ... Milim at the same time making her first real friend also reaches out to Fray who she considers an Equal ... But Fray being cautious and distrustful by nature ... ask her for a promise and if she fulfills it the will be friends ... The Promise is to fool Clayman by pretending to be controlled to figure out what he is up to and who else is involved ... and to not give it away before they can expose him ... Of course Milim gets over excited and deviates from the script when she give Carlion time by declaring war an week in advance ... but she did pull through and that makes Frey trust her which is one of the reasons she decides to serve Milim .... Rimuru also thinks how Frey actually knows how to handle Milim when she persuades her to let her to agree since they gonna have so much fun >D In this episode it happens with Clayman trying to escape ... Clayman thanks to his quasi awakening getting some glimps of the real strength of the Awakened Demon Lords ... realizes that even with this boost he has no chance and so he uses flashy attacks that while powerful are only meant to create chaos so that he can discard his body, make it seam like he died and escape with his soul so that he can the information he learned here back to his allies the only way to salvage anything from this fiasco ... Unfortunately Raphael spent a lot of effort to investigate the matters of the soul .... so Clayman stood no chance ... And that also the thing the fight while the climax of the volume and the arc was also meant to illustrate the difference between a true / awakened Demon Lord and one that is not. Since we are told in the novel before the meeting even starts that Clayman is being played - by Guy something I wrote in a comment on the previous episode. In the novel the we are told that all of the remaining 8 are Awakened Demon Lords or being of the same Caliber ... and also that most if not all of them have Ultimate skills punting them on the same level as Rimuru The Anime briefly hints at this by the fact that the others are just nor worried ... since this Quasi awakening is nowhere near the real one so even now Clayman just does not measure up. Something Clayman himself realizes at that point ... Also the meeting was not just about the name ... Claymans death and the resignation borders needed to be adjusted ... Rimuru was officially recognized as the Ruler of the Whole Jura Forest ... this will be expanded on later or should be... And Milim now Controlled her own Land, Carlions, Freys and was given Claymans lands as well, mainly since is bordered the Easter Empire to serve as a wall because of her ridiculous reputation.

Another thing I take issue the ending as nice as the scene is its actually completely flipped on its head and also again muddles the timeline to much for my liking ... What I am talking about is how long Rimuru was at Walpurgis especially what is shown vs how long it would have taken everyone to get back. Since Rimuru is the only one who can use the army teleportation magic ... getting from the battle back to tempest would take 2 days ... and thats without taking time to handle the prisoners of war ... Most of the army does not have movement skills ... so The Orcs the Gobilin forces (outside of the Wolf Risders and a few exception) and and even Gabiru and his would take a long time to return ... and since they dont know when Rimuru comes people like Benimaru, Gobta and Gabiru would never leave their forces behind outside of some emergency ... Geld and the orcs are even suposed to stay behind and organize the prisoners into a workforce and help with rebuilding of Eurazia immediately Hakuro is in the same camp, he does not have any instant travel skills .... so plus they were tasked with investigating Claymans base and the information he gathered there ... and with what a Info junkie Clayman was, plus the base has secrets from Kazalims time that would also not be doe quickly ... So In the novel when Rimuru comes back almost none of his main crew are present ... all doing their tasks,only Rigurd and surprisingly Diablo from the main crew are there to great him ... and it even fits Diablo is the only one who would try to rush his task as fast a possible so that he could be back at Rimurus side as soon as he can, through there is more to it ... that that ...

The scene With Laplace near the end is phenomenal ... the fight with CLayman is neat again since it was never meant to be a challenge for me because of the novel I could just enjoy it. Guy molest/threaten Rimuru was fun ...

Just a reminder - we saw the resurrected Kazaream with Yuki and Laplace in a prior episode this season.

Is it just me or does sleeping demon lord look like the gray haired twin of the isekai'd kid? I know anime has the "differentiate by hair color and clothes" thing going on, but it was bothering me. This anime has so far managed to have a lot of variation in characters besides hair color. It strikes me that this is intentional but I don't know why it would be or where it would lead.

I am primary a fan of the Novel. the show does some good job especially with the sound design and music
