So ya the pace at which the whole thing with Nagant was resolved is kinda a problem Horikoshi has been facing with the series as a whole for a while now which in short and sweet terms amounts to this: even though us watchers/readers here in the west really like the villains the sentiment isn't so much shared in Japan to the point where when Horikoshi had given sole focus on them for any extended length of time that's the point when manga sales/reader engagement tended to drop and top that off with his deteriorating health issues I truly believe if he could he would've given this Deku Vigilante Arc a lot more breathing room but as you'll find next episode and the rest of the series beyond this point its all about to get wrapped up pretty quick for these reasons

Also I am confused about their discussion. Didn't Deku make the point about why she still has the heart of a hero because she wasn't aiming to kill Chisaki himself? They talk about it as if Deku was talking about himself. Of course Nagant isn't aiming to actually kill him but do enough damage to where she can incapacitate him. I thought that was obvious. The reason isn't himself but the fact she was acting like she was going to kill chisaki for the sake of her goal but didn't aim to actually kill him.

Also like I said in my other comment I think his health plays a factor into rushing things up as well. Since he has been complaining about his health being an issue for quite a while now.

I can see that. I honestly didn't care for MVA, I don't think I've read or watched it yet. Only Shigaraki's backstory. I stopped reading the manga and checked back in when it returned to UA and Deku. Idk, I just don't care for them as characters. I understand the nuance and what they represent in the story but it's not relatable to me like Deku's story.
