Nana is a hot mess and even at 13 when I watched/read this I knew she was crazy lol, she was a good role model for what not to do

I experienced Nana as a teenager growing up too but from the guy side of things and it definitely messed me up the same way, lol

2023-10-08 08:06:22 nana is very much a lost young adult with no aspirations so she is EMOTIONALLY dependent on her friends. it seems weird yall try to phrase it as if she's using them. she is not "denying reality" she is trying to find her way around the situation. as much as ppl think she's a ditz or immature she has her strengths, which is knowing her flaws, and being honest to other ppl. shoji is very much in the same situation as her in the sense that he wants to move to tokyo but can't get into enough schools, but he blows up on nana when she's almost in the exact situation...all bc he's frustrated she won't reciprocate his feelings. it's very odd you guys don't see anything wrong with the way shoji blew up at her... btw a lot of the aspects where you would consider her hopeless such as not getting to her hotel on her own, or getting into the same bedroom as a man and not expecting to sleep together, is very much just normal things women have to worry about. they expect ppl to be in the same room together without thinking about sex, they worry about nana being lost bc she's in a new city and heartbroken...the way she reacts to situations are normal and/or for comedy not bc she's not "mature" enough

she's not crazy lol she just craves love but she's extremely relatable if you are a young woman who is trying to find your path on your own. nana is unique in the sense that she has a dream, which is to be a happy housewife, but bc of her upbringing, she faces a harsh reality when it comes to relationships with men
