Chapter 500: The Tide to Heaven

People thought the sea was endless; they were wrong.

Though the earth is round, the world's sea ends at a coastline that encircles the Dark Continent.

On the world map, it looks like a marble compared to a basin.

In short, the human world’s sea can be called a "lake." In fact, it is indeed a lake named Mobius Lake, and the six continents are islands within it.

Such a comparison instantly magnifies humanity's insignificance by hundreds of times.

The Lorry crossed the boundary of the sea realm, meaning it had already entered the edge of the Dark Sea.

The Dark Sea's total area is six times that of the world map. No matter the direction, it would take at least five weeks of high-speed straight-line sailing to reach the coastline.

After crossing the sea boundary, the sea remained calm, showing no visible changes.

Luo and Biscuit stood side by side at the bow of the ship, gazing at the end of the sea ahead.

In the vicinity of the sea boundary, there is a large landmass, and many uninhabited large islands.

On the land, there resides a race of magical beasts known as Gatekeepers, whose duty is to guide outsiders to and from the Dark Continent.

Negotiations or trades, as long as one maintains proper etiquette, the Gatekeepers will offer help, summoning subhuman guides for those who wish to enter the Dark Continent.

In simple terms, the guides can reduce the difficulty of crossing the Dark Sea.

"If we don’t seek the Gatekeepers’ assistance, the difficulty of crossing the sea will double, right?" Biscuit glanced back at the numerous small black dots of land.

Landing on the imaginary continent allows for resupply and seeking the Gatekeepers' assistance.

"Indeed," Luo nodded, "but in doing so, the scenery we will experience will be different. If it doesn't work out, we can turn back."

"The spirit of a dreamer, huh? Netero once called 'them' a group of dreamers unafraid of the dangers ahead. The downside is it makes him indecisive, unsure of what to decide," Biscuit sighed.

Luo turned his head to look at her, "His decision was correct. While it killed the freedom to pursue dreams, it also prevented many unnecessary sacrifices."

Biscuit was silent for a moment before saying, "So, as far as I know, you're the only one."

Luo shook his head, eyes downcast, "Not just me, there are many others. I just took the first step ahead of them."

Ging, Beyond, Pariston…

Two weeks later, the lucky voyage finally ended as a storm arrived on schedule.

The Lorry swayed in the raging waves, like a lone leaf in a turbulent river, appearing precarious.

Tonpa was inside the cabin, gripping the reinforced rail tightly, staring in amazement through the round window at the tumultuous sky and sea ahead.

The dark clouds in the sky rolled wildly, thunder roared, and red lightning bolts streaked through them.

On the sea, the raging waves roared, towering waves crashed one after another, countless marine creatures were thrown into the air by the waves, then helplessly plunged back into the sea, swept kilometers away by the violent currents, and drowned.

What left Tonpa gaping was not the incessant thunder or the roaring sea, but the dozens of huge tornadoes standing between them.

Lightning flashed, and the tornadoes lifted large amounts of seawater toward the sky, piercing holes in the churning black clouds above.

"We're all screwed!"

Seeing this scene, Tonpa wailed internally.

The Lorry, like a lonely boat, was pushed by the waves toward the ravaging tornadoes.

In the captain's cabin, Luo's face was grim.

"No, the power is insufficient."

The black cat shouted seriously, acting like a qualified assistant.

Despite the violent shaking underfoot, Biscuit's feet seemed rooted, her body as steady as a mountain.

She watched Luo and the black cat trying everything, her gaze shifting to the distant water tornadoes, a hint of tension in her seemingly calm expression.

Compared to strong enemies, nature's power is terrifying.

"What should we do? If we're sucked in, it's over," the black cat said nervously.

This was the sea; if the ship was destroyed, Luo's chances of survival were slim. If Luo died, he would be doomed too.

"We have to charge straight through. If the power is insufficient, turning will only capsize the ship," Luo said gravely.

"Isn't that certain death?" the black cat despaired.

"Shut your crow's mouth."

Luo scolded, took a deep breath, and crouched down.

"What are you doing?" Biscuit asked.

Luo looked up at her seriously, "I'm going to apply 'Shu' to the entire ship."

Even Biscuit, who had seen many storms, felt Luo's plan was crazy, intending to cover the entire ship with nen, not just a sword or knife.

Before Biscuit could recover from her shock, she saw Luo place his hands on the ground, channeling nen with all his might.

White light poured from his hands, and black characters extended from under Luo's palms like small black snakes, spreading around.

Seeing this, Biscuit's emotions churned like the waves outside.

Trying to use divine characters to amplify? It's the first time seeing someone use divine characters to such an extent with nen.

How old is Luo...!

The black characters eventually imprinted on the entire ship, leaving large gaps between them.

Suddenly, a light appeared on the turbulent sea, it was the glow of nen covering the ship.

With this glow, the Lorry was finally swept into the massive tornado, ascending like a rocket in the water amidst violent shaking and terrifying tearing force.

Thunder, water, wind, and a scream, that was Tonpa’s.

...

In a pitch-black mountain range, a cloaked figure walked along a steep cliff, head slightly lowered.

At that angle, one should fall into the clouds below, but the cloaked person's feet stuck to the steep cliff like suction cups with each step.

The cloak was tattered, covered in patches of moss that glowed faintly green like breathing lights, as if they were independent life forms.

The person's face was hidden in shadow, holding something like a small globe, seemingly made of some mineral, with a crescent-shaped outer ring that was jagged, and a black stone the size of a thumb suspended in the hollow center.

The stone was absolutely still, seemingly fixed by countless opposing magnetic forces in the ring's center.

Suddenly, the still stone began to vibrate.

The cloaked figure stopped, quietly watching the stone swaying like a cradle.

He paused for a moment, then slightly turned his head to glance back at the direction of the sea, no, towards Mobius Lake.

"Another 'tide to heaven'? Unknowingly, five years have passed again."

A hoarse and aged voice was drowned by the fierce wind.
