The 1968 Japanese GP winning sportscar has arrived. In 1968 Japan decided to open up the Japanese GP, a major sportscar race at that time, to Group 7 (the most famous sub-set being Can-Am) cars.

"As long as the car had four wheels, two seats, and a body with fenders, constructors could build any car they saw fit, with any engine they wished to install. Group 7 was as close to an unrestricted formula as big-time automobile racing would ever allow." - Super GT World.

This sparked furious development in 1967 between Nissan & Toyota. As you have all experienced already, Toyota delivered two different version of their 415S, several teams bought Lola T70 MkIIs, and even a Shelby Daytona was hauled out to compete in the prestigious event. The field was filled out in the lower class with Daihatsu P-5s, a Porsche 910 & 906, and several Nissan R380s (which date back to 1965/1966).... Izusu failed to have their R6 ready for 1968, but would unveil their car in 1969.

When the R381 broke cover, it shocked the opposing teams and was instantly a crowd favorite... fans called it the "Griffin" or the "Monster Bird" in awe... then when it hit the track it did not disappoint. The R381 was truly a monster, powered by a small block Chevy V8 engine, the car produced 534NM of torque at 5500rpm and 450hp at 6000rpm.

The biggest characteristic of the R381 is the active split rear wings whose left wing and right wing coordinate with the rear suspension, move independently while running, and moving upward together when braking. Nissan were inspired by the Chaparral 2E, and in 1967 began to incorporate a rear wing into the R381 racecar they were busy developing. We've incorporated these characteristic dynamic wings into our digital version of the R381.

The Nissan R381 dominated the 1968 Japanese GP, winning by 20 seconds over second place, and stamping its place into Japanese motor race lore. Our digital version of this car has been painstakingly recreated, is accurately matched to JGT Group 7 regulations, features tons of historically accurate paint schemes, and it is packed with CSP features:

1. Nine contact point tires.

2. CSP fuel consumption physics.

3. Engine malfunction/misfire chance code.

4. Engine power loss based on damage sustained code.

5. Suspension code fixes.

6. FFB improvements.

7. Naturally aspirated engine delay.

1969 Isuzu R6 JGT v0.97 Changelog:

1. New engine sounds!

2. New brake temp physics code.

3. Removed handbrake.

4. Updated camera shake multiplier to match rest of JGT cars.

5. Updated engine repair time to match rest of JGT cars.

6. Minor AI code revisions.

7. Increased engine's sensitivity to altitude changes.

8. Increased fuel efficiency.

9. Revised engine damage physics code.

10. Deleted a few unnecessary files in the data folder.

11. Reduced upper tire pressure setup range options.

12. Reduced fuel capacity in setup options to 80L to match JGT regulations.

13. Added rear camber setup adjustment options.

Please remember that HSS mods require the use of Custom Shaders Patch by Ilja for Assetto Corsa to enable the advanced features. *We recommend CSP version 0.2.1 preview 2 for all HSS mods.* DO NOT USE CSP v0.2.3 preview 1 or LATER with this racecar as it will break the car's physics.
