I will be posting a monthly update video on the HSS YouTube this week. If you would like to leave a comment or question below it might be featured and/or answered in that video. Subscribe so you don’t miss it: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNdelw44RvCqXnecxbSpblg
1924 HSS Demon:
Our secret project is finally ready to be revealed. The Demon is going to be a pay mod for Assetto Corsa, inspired by the famous land speed record breakers of the 1920s. It will be $3 and available on our website sometime this summer. The primary reason we decided to go with this project as a paid mod, is because of the cost to actually record and then develop the incredible sounds for this car (and which we are still working on relentlessly). A car like this has been on many of your wish lists… and now we are going to deliver absolutely everything you could hope for with this racecar. Watch out, the Demon approaches!
1902 Ford 999:
The car is in Assetto Corsa and ready to be voted on. Minor refinements have continued over the last month.
1906 Renault AK GP car:
The latest v0.991 update was pushed out for the 1906 Renault AK GP car. I hope you have really enjoyed the massive upgrades we made to this project with the animations, new gauges, and other features. We have just done a further PC performance optimization pass, and that update will be coming later this month.
1906 Itala 35/40:
I hope you enjoyed this car over the last month! We have a small update coming with some minor fixes in the next week.
1906 Locomobile:
This project was idle this last month. We still plan to revisit it in the coming months to add the advanced driver animations, a few more details, and more polish to the car.
1906 Fiat 130 HP:
This car is the next pre-ww1 car I am going to have the 3d modeling team produce. It will give a full challenge to the 1906 Renault and Locomobile. Obviously with all the other current projects it may take awhile before this one really gets moving along in production.
1907 Itala 35/45:
This project was idle this last month. This car is pretty close to finished in my opinion, however, we still need to add the advanced driver animations and LODs.
1907 Itala 36/45:
Well we missed the update window for the Itala I thought we’d hit. We are having issues with some of the advanced animations. Once we get that ironed out we will release the update (including more skins and other improvements), most likely sometime next month.
(1911) Blitzen Beasts Pack ($5 pack):
The biggest hold up right now is getting the sounds right for this mod pack. We are having more success with the 1924 HSS Demon, so that project will be released first. This project should be ready sometime this fall.
1911 American Champions Pack ($5 pack):
This project was idle this last month. This is a pack that we are currently in the very early stages of working on. It will include two 1911 American open wheel racecars, the 1911 Marmon Wasp and the 1911 Mercer Raceabout. I wouldn’t expect a release for at least a year.
1915 Ford Model T Speedster:
We have finally got around to fixing the AO map tear (see above photo), but we now need to redo the paint schemes, which is going to be a lot of work. I am also going to push a 1910s tire model update to this car once I’m finished developing the new tire model for the 1916 American Champions pack. Hoping to finish up this project soon and get it released on the HSS website.
1916 American Champions Pack ($20 pack):
This pack will have a partial release for a discounted price of $15 (25% off) on May 22nd! With the rest of the content being added to the pack (and for purchasers) over the rest of the year. The initial release will include 3 of the 5 tracks and 2 of the 4 cars (most likely Indiana Superspeedway, Chicago Park, Sheepshead Bay, the Duesenberg and the Premier). The remaining car and tracks will be released over the rest of the year (Ascot Park, Tacoma Speedway, the Maxwell, and the Sunbeam). Once the entire pack is released the price will be increased to $20.
1916 Santa Monica ($5):
This project was idle this last month. This project is going to be a major one for us. It will comprise a good portion of the city of Santa Monica as it was in 1916. There will be multiple street circuits, including of course the 1916 Vanderbilt cup layout. We are also working out the details concerning a traffic pack and the logistics for developing a realistic open-world experience to drive through the city and experience a 1910s/1920s American town with any of the many vintage cars available in AC. Obviously, this track will also pair with the 1916 American Champions pack, which together will account for 5 of the 10 racetracks and allow for 10 of the 15 races from the 1916 season to be run.
1924 Alfa Romeo P2:
We just released an update for this car, so go check it out. The biggest changes are to the front suspension, which should make for much more realistic handling in high speed corners. We are working on a small update patch that will be released later this month, with some small fixes including correcting the exhaust exit point and also hopefully the LODs.
1924 Bugatti T35:
The engine sounds are currently in development, although we had a couple hiccups last month, and should be finished soon. When we add the sounds, we hope to also add LODs too in one update together.
1924 Delage 2LCV:
The Delage was just released yesterday! I hope you all have had a chance to take it for a spin. I think its our best released work yet! We are working on an update for next month that will include accurate skins, working gauges, suspension refinements, and other improvements.
1925, 1928, 1929 Alfa Romeo P2 (physics updates):
I am still working on finishing up the 1925 physics update I promised for hitting 200 subscribers. It should be out later this month. This last month I got busy with the 1924 updates and changes I wanted to make, and obviously those need to be right before I start finishing up the 1925 physics updates.
1925-1929 Bugatti T35 (physics updates):
I am working on finishing up the 1925 physics update I promised for hitting 200 subscribers. Same thing as with the P2, as I wanted to wait to further refine the 1924 base car first before finalizing this update.
1925, 1928, & 1929 Delage 2LCV (physics updates):
I have begun working on the 1925 version of the 2LCV. This car had a supercharger added and could produce 200HP! Which is crazy! We are working on custom sounds for the 1925 version of the car.
1926 Amilcar CGSS Voiturette:
This project was idle this last month. This is the first of the two commercial models we purchased to expand our portfolio of offerings. We have yet to do anything with the model, but we will be reducing the poly count and then adding a custom interior before we begin importing the car model into AC.
1927-1929 Amilcar CGSS Voiturette (physics updates):
This project was idle this last month. The Amilcar CGSS was raced through 1929, and we will be adding those later versions of the car with accurate physics adjustments to match. Thousands of these cars were made and raced during the late 1920s in entry level races around Europe.
1931 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300:
The 3d model is slowly taking shape. The 3d model is roughly 40% completed.
1932 Studebaker Indycar:
We just finished optimizing the Studebaker’s 3d model for PC performance, adding the LODs, and also new accurate engine sounds. The update should be released in the next couple of weeks.
1932 HSS Indy Special:
This car is in the game and ready to be voted on. Its custom engine sounds are making good progress.
1934 Maserati 8CM:
I hope you enjoyed the big update for the Maserati this last month! At this point the Maserati is pretty much finished, just needs some LODs. Then it’ll just be waiting for the rest of the 1934 GP cars to catch up.
1934 Bugatti T59:
Due to just falling behind a bit on the Bugatti T59 this month I just need a few more days. The update will be out this week.
1934 Alfa Romeo P3:
The P3 is going to get a bit of a more comprehensive overhaul. It needs tire tread and I think we could add a bit more polish overall to help bring it to life. I expect a quick tire physics update this next week, but the larger update will come early next month.
1934 Mercedes W25:
I hope you enjoyed the big update to the W25! I think it handles a lot better now. It no longer has a pure swing arm suspension, essentially the rear half of the top and bottom is a swing arm, while the front is more of a traditional suspension structure.
1934 Auto Union Type A:
This project got delayed again… more work to polish it up, I wasn’t loving the gauges and some of the other details on the car. But if we have waited this long, we might as well wait a bit longer! I’m hoping for a release later this month.
1935 Auto Union Type B:
This project was idle this last month. The 1935 Auto Union Type B’s 3d model has just been finished. Now to import it into AC. Should be ready to be voted upon for release in a couple months.
1935 Alfa Romeo P3 (physics update):
This project was idle this last month. We are going to be developing 1935 versions of the GP cars to complete a full 1935 grid. This project will be begun once the big updates in the works for the 1934 P3 are pushed through.
1935 Bugatti T59 (physics update):
This project was idle this last month. Like with the P3, the 1935 grid would not be complete without the updated version of the T59.
1935 Maserati 8CM (physics update):
This project was idle this last month. Like with the 1934/1935 GP cars, we will be delivering an updated 1935 Maserati 8CM.
1935 Mercedes W25 (physics update):
This project was idle this last month. And to round off the 1935 season, we will also have a physics version for the W25 as it raced during the 1935 season.
1936 Austin Seven Monoposto Special:
This is a project we have currently on the backburner, but it's a car that Fat-Alfie personally requested we make. We will get to it once we have some free time.
1937 Mercedes W25 Streamliner:
This car actually has some serious issues (bugs in the car from some inaccurate importing of the 3d model, which was done by an Importer who worked with us a few years ago… yes, this car is that old). I am thinking about actually going completely back to the drawing board, remaking the 3d model to be even more accurate. And then importing the new and improved model into AC… will be a few months before the update is finished, but I think it will be well worth it.
1937-1939, 1949 Talbot Lago T150C:
This is the winning car from last month’s vote! It is going to be added to the list of projects for our 3d modeling team to work on!
1937 Delahaye 135C:
This car is still currently on hold while we focus on other projects. The 3d model is approximately 80% done.
1950 Aston Martin DB2:
This car is still in the 3d modeling stage (approximately 60% completed).
1954 American Thunder ($10 pack):
This project was idle this last month. This pack is going to include two American Stockcars from the 1954 season, and I would also like to include at least one period correct track as well. It is in the very early stages of development, so I wouldn’t expect a release for at least a year.
1954 North Wilksboro Speedway (dirt):
This track is in the early stages of development, and will be released via Patreon support.
1958 Lotus 16:
This project was idle this last month. We plan to polish up the physics and hopefully get them close to a finished state. We also need the realistic engine sounds added and the LODs.
1965 HSS GT ($3):
This car has just been assigned to an Importer today actually. Going to be a real beauty. I expect it will be released sometime this fall… or maybe later as we are going to redevelop the AC Pro version first, and then the AC version.
1965 Ford GT40 (part of Bazza’s upcoming pack):
This car is currently being polished up, working on the gauges and other details. Once it's completed we will send the car over to Bazza for him to finish in preparation for including in one of his upcoming packs
1966 Honda RA273 F1:
This project is in the very early stages and we are working on improving the details and other features of the 3d model.
1967 McLaren M6A Can Am:
This project is in the very early stages, the 3d model is approximately 20% complete.
1968 Honda RA301 F1:
This car was released by Emil Andersson already on Racedepartment (his project he brought to us): https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/honda-ra301-beta.59525/ we are going to help him refine the car, and later versions will be released via this Patreon.
1968 Toyota 415S Flatnose & Sharpnose:
This project was idle this last month. The Sharpnose will be released into early access next month. The Sharpnose has a bit more downforce on the front which helps with corner turn-in but with a bit more drag it has a tad lower top speed on the straights.
1968 Daihatsu P-5:
This car was just released onto Racedepartment and the HSS website as our first public release! We decided to release the car as it was our #1 most pirated car (so lets get ahead of that), it is nearly completed & just needs some fine tuning and polish, and it was the 55th anniversary of its class win at the Japanese Grand Prix in 1968. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/1968-daihatsu-p-5.60221/
1968 Isuzu Bellett R:
The Bellett R has been on the voting list for a while and is ready for an early access release.
1968 Nissan R381:
The R381 has been on the voting list for a while and is ready for an early access release.
1969 Porsche 917 Shorttail & Longtail (part of Bazza’s upcoming pack):
These cars are currently part of the late 1960s Prototype pack in development by Bazza. These are going to be tricky with their early aero package issues, but a lot of fun to tame.
1970 Ferrari 312B F1:
The 1970 Ferrari 312B has some of the best features of any of our cars, and we are shooting to make it a peer in both quality and performance to RSS’ 1970s F1 car. It is still available to be voted on for an early release.
1970 BRM P153 F1:
This car’s 3d model is in the early stages of development, roughly 60% complete. It is going to go great with the rest of the 1970 F1 racecars.
1970 De Tomaso F1:
This car’s 3d model is roughly 70% complete. It is going to pair wonderfully with RSS’ 1970s’ F1 mod and also with our own 1970 Ferrari 312B.
1972 McLaren M16B Indycar:
The M16B has been on the voting list for a while and is ready for an early access release.
1972 Milwaukee Mile:
This track is coming along nicely, and should be finished within the next couple of months. The track will feature both the oval and infield layouts, all correctly detailed for the early 1970s racing period.
1972 Michigan Speedway:
We are currently scrapping our plans on automatically doing 1972 Michigan, as we have decided the AC AI just isn’t that good on tracks like it. Additionally, we would like you to vote and choose more of the upcoming track projects.
1972 Pocono Raceway:
We are still planning to develop Pocono, as the racing is a lot better with the different banked corners and tighter radius of the turns compared to Michigan. However, it will be added to a list for you to choose from among other historic tracks.
1972 North Wilkesboro Speedway:
We are also developing the 1972 version of the track, since we have already gone to all the effort with the other versions. Should be lots of fun to race on the track in ‘54, ‘72, ‘94, and 2023.
1972 American Champions pack ($10 pack):
This pack will include at least two American open wheel cars from 1972 and two important tracks. This pack has not even begun development, so expect a full development cycle ahead, perhaps it will be finished within the next two years.
1973 Matra MS670:
This is the second commercial model we purchased to expand our portfolio. We have yet to begin working on the model, but we will first reduce the poly count and then add a fully custom interior. Then we will begin importing the model and bringing it to life within AC. This car is going to pair perfectly with the other 1973 Endurance Cars, and although the Matra MS670 did not compete at the Targa Florio event, it will help flesh out events at other tracks and of course you can always try it out and see what could have been.
1973 Porsche RSR 3.0L - Targa Florio Edition:
We have decided to attempt to get licensing for this car and include it in the 1973 Targa Legends pack, wish us luck! If we don’t, then it will be released via Patreon support here.
1973 Targa Legends ($10 pack):
As I mentioned, we are going to try and include the Porsche RSR 3.0L. Either way, this pack will include four cars. We are still shooting for an early 2024 release, but this is an ambitious target and there is a good chance this pack gets pushed back later in the year.
1994 American Thunder ($5 pack):
This project has been advancing quickly. This is going to be a paid pack including three different 1994 American Stockcars. These will complement any 1994 tracks we produce via Patreon support. One of the models will be further developed for AMS2 (see below).
1994 North Wilkesboro Speedway:
We are working on a substantial update, currently gathering a lot of feedback and also planning out ways to improve our development process for future tracks.
1994 Daytona Superspeedway:
This project has been canceled.
2023 North Wilkesboro Speedway:
It didn’t take too much to modify the 1994 version of the track for 2023. This version will be released next week directly on Racedepartment in time for the 2023 Nascar All Star race this month. We hope that this release will generate support and hype for the historic versions of the track.
The HSS Historic GP Pack ($10 pack):
The 1974 and 1984 3d models have been redone from top to bottom. All four of the historic GP cars (‘54, ‘74, ‘84, ‘94) will be receiving versions for AC Pro and also AC.
Contract Projects:
Two of the 1960s Formula Junior cars for Sergio Loro’s F3 Classic Tracks should be finished this next week or so. We haven’t done much with the 1962 Morris Minor, but I expect to work a lot more on it the rest of this month. As I promised I kept the contract work light this last couple of months, and we were able to push out a lot of updates for the Patreon supported projects. I expect to resume splitting my focus with contract projects (both current and new) in June.
Automobilista 2:
We have begun development on our first AMS2 mod, which will be a continuation of one of the 1994 American Stockcars we are developing for Assetto Corsa. There will be a Patreon vote on which of the three 3d models we will continue to develop to meet AMS2 specifications. Check out the images above of the 1994 American Thunder pack, and start planning which design you want brought to AMS2!
Speed & Glory:
This project has been put on hold for now. I actually had the team help me with working on the Sim Vendor website this last month… but we are looking to add a third talented person to this team once production resumes.
