Here is the movie reaction, it was hilarious. The vampires and them death scenes had me just deceased. But it definitely gave me backstory that I needed!

Great reaction :) The movie is kind of Buffy’s origin story, although it’s not exactly the same backstory as in the show, so it’s not technically considered canon. What happened with the movie is that Joss wrote his version of it and then it got completely rewritten and butchered, plus Donald Sutherland apparently rewrote most of his dialogue and scenes, and Joss got so fed up with it all that he walked off the set during production and never came back. Which is how it ended up being a silly, over the top comedy instead of the more serious movie it was originally supposed to be. When it came to making the TV show, Joss based Buffy's backstory on the original movie script that he wrote, which is why some of the details are different to the actual movie (for example, in the original movie script, Buffy did burn down the gym). Not sure if you recognised who played the basketball player who gave the ball to the vampire… it was Ben Affleck. Also Seth Green had a tiny uncredited part in the movie - he was one of the vampires Buffy fought outside the gym near the end… he’s only in it for a couple of seconds though - blink and you miss it.
