We don't plan around how insects look, but how they 'play'. So we wouldn't add spider insectoid geneline per se, we would add some geneline that resembles spiders.

Potential Anomaly crossover? I can sort of imagine a horror geneline twisted with bioferrite that can sometimes crop up instead of regular infestations. Some kind of web spinning parasitoids that infect people with unique swarmlings... Just rambling my ideas.

Less "actual spiders", but more "fictional depictions of giant spiders" but: Ambushers that are stronger in the dark. Larger (Spelopede analogues and above) bugs can spit webs that slow or stun pawns. Webs can be harvested (somehow) as usable textile. Maybe one that naturally creates web traps that stun pawns that run into them?

It's our way of focusing on the theme of the mod, which is Insects and hive building. We decided against adding some random weapons, or ways to essentially remove a vital for the mod mechanic.
