Chun Li VS Mai Shiranui - Animated in Blender - 3D Fight Scene

Behold, Everyone! Mai Shiranui vs Chun Li - Animated in Blender!  Please enjoy my take on this long-lasting, iconic rivalry!  Each of my animations are meant to have different motifs, this one is of Grace and Beauty. I see my projects as much more than fight scenes, but intricate and delicate stories, between beloved characters. What's ironic, despite the polarizing discourse of this match-up, I went into this project pretty unbiasedly. I don't know a ton about these characters, but their place in pop culture is undeniable.  This was animated over the course of about 2 months, and took close to 300 hours of work. In total it was about 164 Different Camera Shots, 14,484 Frames, Rendered in Eevee at 25 Samples. I didn't watch their famous Death Battle from 12 years ago, because I wanted to have a truly unique spin on this. Let's not forget how far we've come, at least from a technical standpoint... I'd also love to credit, the insanely talented, City String Ensemble, they have an absolutely incredible version of My Hips Don't Lie, from Shakira, one of my favorite songs of all time. Their channel is very underrated, so if you liked their rendition, please head over to their channel and support them! The music came from Avatar: The Last Airbender & Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm.  And the Temple came from Sketchfab: Raiz made this amazing model. Last but not least, for all of my projects, I'll let Stan Lee explain my stance on fictitious matchups: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4_zFYnnn2Y&t=2s I've seen a lot of Team Mai vs Team Chun Li's in my comments, but I hope we're able to have a more nuanced discussion around this. I think it's important that we un-learn the arbitrary things that divide us, and instead seek commonality. Just enjoy the ride, guys. Total masterpiece, It's incredible how much you've improved since your original catwoman vs. black widow video.

I know, right? Be careful when you choose to start your dream project...You'll only improve over time! Either way, I never thought this one would be my masterpiece, but for the characters, it needed to be a very technical and complex project. I'm honored to throw my hat into the ring for this one. Now it belongs to the internet. <3 Thanks for the comment, Drew!

Eyyyyy the first one with my name in the credits LOL! I LOVED this one to death. 8 especially love the part where Mai blows a little bit of hair out of her eyes, super cute. As a low blow enjoyer, the one on Chun-Li was top tier. The chasing sequence through the trees was a lowkey favorite moment, and I love that there was like a violin cover of Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira playing, it fit surprisingly well. Music choice was overall excellent, and I loved that you got to play with scenes and really set a pretty stage with a lot of beautiful shots, the sunset ones especially. I also like that even when it switched to night it still felt so well lit. Overall the animation was improved a ton in every way, and the facial animations in this were soooo good. Chun-Li’s eyes as she grabs Mai’s “shirt” were so well done and adorable. Overall probably my second favorite of yours so far, I DO have a soft spot for the pure scrappiness of Lara Croft vs Cassie Cage. But from a technical standpoint I think this is absolutely your best one yet!

What an awesome comment dude! Thank you so much for writing that out, and sorry if you should have appeared in my credits sooner, for the record, you absolutely have a special place on my Patreon and in my heart! ;) Yeah, I didn't want this project to be 8 minutes long, but it just kept going, and to tell the story properly, it needed every second. Chun Li's face was very, very difficult to animate, but I think her expressions came out looking pretty good! The Pond moment was cute, and is juxtaposed with how intense the fight gets at the end. I agree Lara vs Cassie is definitely hotter, and and it's more in line with my taste for catfight, I like something a little more grounded and messy, but for these two, this is what the characters needed. Fun Fact: My Hips Don't Lie is one of my favorite songs of all time! I thought the music came together very nicely in this! Over all this project is almost perfect in my book. Hope it's enjoyed for many years to come <3
