What an episode! Favourite of the season for sure, now we just need to see what happens next episode! Stefans face at the end will be giving me nightmares tho

the ONLY thing Stefan asked and wanted was to spend his last day with Caroline and he can't even have that. SMH. Also, out of all the reactions I have watched you are the only one who loves Sybil, which is interesting. But that scene of her tearing apart that chicken is .... disturbing, considering that she's a cannibal and she didn't really have a carving knife in that island.

She's a piece of shit but I always love a villain, I think it's mainly her kind of 'I don't give a fuck' energy of just turning up to Christmas and having a good time 😭 also omg I didn't even THINK about the lack of things to cut stuff in the island, that's horrible

ALSO I forgot to put a comment here before, I didn't explain the Stefan thing about 'being a hero' well at all. My issue wasn't with Stefan but the notion of 'good brother bad brother' however when editing I realised it came across like I was annoyed at Stefan for that lol

In regards to the Elena thing that Cade was manipulating Stefan with, wasn't Klaus looking for the doppelganger in season 2 anyway so she would have been inserted into this life no doubt without Stefan.

Exactly I was gonna say this only. Thanks for putting this out :) Infact thanks to Stefan and Damon she was protected because of them and ofc Bonnie too. But in this case yeah i def don't blame Stefan or Damon Elena was anyways going to face all of this be it by herself or after Stefan / Damon came into her life.

Yeah without Stefan and Damon there, Katherine probably would've been the first one to return to mystic falls and find Elena and take her to Klaus. She already knew and had talked to Isobel, knew that she was descended from her and had a daughter, she would've gone to Mystic Falls to see the daughter and find out it was her doppelganger

Season 8 is the revision of the brothers' life, the meanning of redemption, and who worked the most on it. Elena being the doppleganger was always in danger of being discover as a supernatural creature, but we don't know for sure, because she had a sistem of humans, the cancell on the allert, to protect their kids an their family. So we don't know for sure if she would ever being exposed to that world. Stefan with his presence, and inserting himself in her life, made sure of it. But that is not the point. The point is intentions. Damon met her, and compelled her to forget about him. Stefan saw her, save her life, and instead of live her alone, as Damon did, he stalked her for months, poke his nose in her private life discovering she was adopted, and when he knew enogh about her, he litterally insert himself in her life, going to her school, her class, pretending to be a seventeen years old hgh scholl boy, lying to her about everything, about who he is, about his brother, about what he knew about her, slept with her before telling her about Katherine and he snooped in her life for months. Also the fact that Stefan is a smooth talker, with a pretty face, make him got away with murder, an he never had to atone or apologise for the things he has done, not with his brother, not with Elena, when he threat her on Wickery bridge , he never apologise to her , forgiveness was handed over to him. So that is why Cade is fascinated with Stefan and want him specifically, not Damon, because he is capable even when he hate children at Christmas, to make the siren feel sorry fo him. So that is what Cade wants from him, his capacity to manipulate people, to get away with murder and he is a master manipulator. But chicken come to roost and is time for Stefan to face what he never face before, the consequences of his actions and the responsibility of them.

The purpose of Cade showing Stefan the moment right before he met Elena was to see if Stefan would speak of his intentions, but Stefan did not. Let us not forget that Cade is a psychic; he already knows about Stefan's intentions now and back then. This scene is not about when Elena would know about the supernatural but to see what Stefan would say about that particular moment. The significance of that scene is more so profound than people realize.
