This epsode is very interesting, for many reasons. First because the writers made the characters said tat the Delena dance in seasonone wa ste begining of their love confirmining that that is what they had in mind from the very beginni nb that STefan ad Elena was just an obstacle to slonly built the love story of Damon and Elena , and if you will rewatch the serie, you will see it too. Than how the love story between Enzo and Bonnie mirror Te one between Damon an Elena making the characters saying the same things, like " I am in love with you because you make me feel alive" or the canandrum about eternal life and mortal life and how Damon chose in the end to be mortal to live a mortal life with her. Bonnie here is trying to make the same thing she wants to get the cure out of Elena's for Enzo live a happy life together and when Enzo is about to die pass the cure to Damon by giving him Enzo's blood, The problem here is that if Enzo dies long before Bonnie dies, what is going to happen? I am not sure Elena or Damon would like the idea.

In any case it is right that Bonnie for how much love she has for Enzo is not giving in to the temptention of turn into a vampire, even if the Elena problem was n't there, she is a witch to her core, a powerful one , a Bennet witch, she cannot be a vampire and she cannot tied down to a life that isn't a good life, she deserve to have a family if she wants, a normal life.

The problem with Stefan is that even with the humanity off, what is coming out of you is your own inner dark self. Stefan never learn to make is light and dark side together to make the dark side working for him, he is entirely engulfed in his dark side he cannot controll it, he is having fun with it, guilt free. That is unfortunatelly very much Stefan too.

Written by Newmoon: “Elena’s necklace started as a symbol of Stefan and Elena's love because Stefan was the one who gave it to her because he wanted to protect her from Damon, but that was it, that’s all it means for Stefan and as the show went on the necklace became so much more for Damon because he was the one who always brought the necklace back to Elena and they Shared such significance moments with that necklace that only helped deepen their bond starting from S1. First in S1E11, the necklace started to become the symbol of trust for Damon and Elena. Elena was without her necklace, and she had to take a leap of faith and put herself in this vulnerable position of being around Damon and chose to go on this trip with him, knowing that Damon had all the power over her and then Damon by not taking advantage of her vulnerability showed her that she could trust him. This was the start of the strong foundation of trust between them, so much so that in E14 when Elena tried to earn Damon’s trust again after her betrayal, she took her necklace off and put herself in the same vulnerable position and offered Damon to compel the truth out of her and see for himself that he could trust her, by doing this gesture, she was trying so hard to earn Damon’s trust and at the same time she was showing Damon that how much she actually trust him with this vulnerable position she’s putting herself in to, knowing that Damon wouldn’t take advantage of this situation and to Elena’s surprise Damon didn’t even compel her and put the necklace back on her and chose to trust Elena blindly, it was Damon’s turn to take a leap of faith and put himself in to this vulnerable position and gave all the power to Elena and it was Elena’s turn to show him that he could trust her which she did follow through with that promise until the end. This is how a mutual trust was built between them. Then again in S2E8, it was Damon who brought back Elena’s necklace. This moment means a lot to Damon because this is the first time he has ever confessed his love for Elena and admitted that he couldn’t be selfish with her. Damon continued to love Elena selflessly knowing she probably would never love him back. In S3E1 it was again Damon who chose to give Elena’s necklace back to her to give her hope about her relationship with Stefan. This scene was the most significant moment that Damon and Elena shared with that necklace that means a lot to both of them. This is the first memory Damon remembered the second he laid eyes on the necklace. It means a lot to Elena because this is literally the moment she fell in love with Damon and saw how selfless Damon’s love is and it means a lot for Damon in different way because Damon doesn’t know this is the moment Elena fell in love with him but this moment is the reminder of his unconditional and selfless love for Elena that he loves this girl so much that he was wiling to give her the necklace that’s gonna remind her of his brother but no matter how painful it is for him to do so, he’s willing to put her happiness above his own because his love doesn’t know any conditions whatsoever and doesn’t even rely on reciprocation. This memory in Damon’s head is the reminder of how much his love for Elena is selfless and unconditional. This is how Elena’s necklace eventually became the symbol of trust, honesty, vulnerability and selflessness, and love with no conditions or limits for Damon and Elena”

Written by Newmoon: “We always have to remember there are things in the show that we audience know but the characters in the show are completely unaware of like why Elena’s necklace have such a powerful influence on Damon. Stefan has no idea why Damon has such a strong attachment to Elena’s necklace, he only thought maybe because it was belonged to Elena and it’s reminding Damon of her. He doesn’t know that the significance of Elena’s necklace for Damon goes so much deeper than that. Other than Damon and Elena, no character in the show know about all the meaningful, pure and intimate moments that Damon and Elena shared with that necklace. Another thing that Stefan doesn’t know is the fact that Damon and Elena met first, they never told Stefan about that and that’s why Stefan always thought the only reason Damon was interested in Elena at the beginning was because she was dating Stefan and Damon wanted to go after her to mess with Stefan and somewhere along the way he actually fell in love with her but we as the audience know that is not the truth and Damon’s soul had already been touch by Elena’s long before she and Stefan met. Even tho Damon was all about rescuing Katherine at the beginning but from the first moment he saw Elena, he felt a special connection with Elena that only got stronger the more he got to know her and find out who she was as a person but Damon was denying it to himself because first he was trying to stay loyal to Katherine and then the last thing he wanted was to fall in love with a human who’s gonna remind him of his lost humanity and how much he missed it. Damon didn’t plan on falling in love with Elena and this love caught him off guard, unlike Stefan who was planning everything in his head long before he even met Elena because he was trying to rewrite his love story and he wanted to control every aspect of the relationship to go where he wanted. Stefan was forcing the relationship to happen whereas for Damon it was unplanned and completely out of his control. “The truth is Elena wouldn’t have looked at you twice, if I had been there in that day” That’s why Stefan always thought that he was the one who pushed Elena in to Damon’s arm and if he had been a better boyfriend, Delena would’ve never happened but the truth is Damon and Elena shared a unique and strong connection right from the beginning, they were able to touch the deepest part of each other’s soul that no one else has ever reached to and that gave them the power to read each other’s soul like an open book, they were always meant to be so whether Stefan was in the picture or not, Damon and Elena would’ve always found their way back to each other. This is the truth. Stefan thought if he told Damon the whole story about the necklace, he could confuse him enough to lose his attachment to the necklace. Stefan was trying to convince Damon that Damon and Elena’s love was not that epic that everyone else is making it out to be by telling him you were so awful that I had to give that necklace to Elena to protect her from you and he was trying to make it look like Damon was the second option for Elena and the only reason they happened was because Stefan made this happen by pushing them together. Damon doesn’t remember Elena because of what Sybil did but based on what everyone else is saying and some random memories he remembers every time he holds her necklace, this is what he gathers; “apparently there’s this girl that I was madly in love with but then Sybil made me forget that I’ve ever known her or loved her” Stefan was trying to confuse Damon with his word so it would be easier for Sybil to take control over his mind but ironically it helped Damon put 2 and 2 together better and reach to the conclusion that actually helped him fight Sybil with stronger force because on one hand Caroline was describing Their love with words like real, deep, magical and powerful but at the same time Stefan was whispering in his ears how awful he was that Elena had to be protected from him, so even tho Damon didn’t remember anything about Elena but he got fascinated by Elena in his mind and wanted to understand her more that “if both Stefan and Caroline were right and I was that awful why would she fall in love with me? That means at some point I started to change and Elena managed to forgive me for all the terrible things that I ever done and chose to love me regardless”, this made Damon admire Elena even more that who’s this girl with such a beautiful soul and a heart as big as the ocean who’s so forgiving and compassionate that gave me another chance and as the result we ware able to create such strong and magical love that was so threatening to Sybil that she had to erase that love from my mind”. It was like Damon was falling in love with her all over again only by Elena’s reputation and what he thinks of her in his mind. “When you were mocking around in my subconscious, did you ever take the time to understand Elena? her capacity for forgiveness” The way Damon said the words “her capacity for forgiveness” it was like he was about to cry, that how much he was moved by the love that Elena had for him and for how amazing of the soul she was. This is when he decided to cling to all the random but true and meaningful memories of Elena in his mind than any other false memories that Sybil put inside his head so he tried to push Sybil completely out of his mind and let only Elena take over all the free space of his mind and let her take the lead in his subconscious and not Sybil. This is how Damon finally sever Sybil’s connection to his mind. Everyone always praises Stefan’s strong mentality that he was able to resist Klaus’s compulsion in S3E5 and now we saw in this episode how Damon was able to fight against the mind control of the siren, the 2000 years old creature who has the ability to reach to your subconscious thoughts. Vampire compulsion is not that deep and it could only influence you at the surface level and change your consciousness thoughts but Siren has the ability to go deeper in mind and interfere with your subconscious and your deepest thoughts that you’re not even aware of. Sybil herself looked shocked that how Damon was able to fight her mind control. Damon can’t remember who Elena is and Elena is not even physically here and yet just Elena’s necklace was enough to give him enough strength to fight back and help him to sever Sybil’s connection to his mind. Imo nothing can beat what Damon did for Elena in this season. It just reminds me of how Elena fell in love with Damon all over again even without her memories in S6. It’s like both Damon’s and Elena’s souls made the promise to each other that they would never ever forget about each other even if their hearts and minds did. A truly unbreakable bond.”

Stefan said that Damon stole Elena from him, but nobody can not steal a person's feelings and emotions. Damon and Elena developed a strong connection when they first met.
