What a great send off for an incredible show, to know that everyone we lost is now at peace and watching over their loved ones was such a beautiful way to say goodbye 😭 Thank you everyone for this incredible journey, has truly been epic ❤️

I love that the last shot was of Stefan and Damon embracing in their home. After countless rewatches of this show, the emotional beats that still work for me are the ones surrounding Stefan and Damon’s relationship.

I agree with you about Enzo’s death feeling like it existed to justify Stefan’s death. It’s why I wish Stefan’s death wasn’t framed around redemption. Him making the ultimate sacrifice for his loved ones is already in character, he’s done it many times before, so why make it seem like he has to die to pay for his past sins?

I’ve seen some fans complain about Damon not seeming happy in the last few scenes despite being with Elena, but honestly considering the show didn’t have the time to explore the aftermath of a huge death like Stefan’s, I think it makes sense for Damon to not ever be fully happy knowing that his brother died to save him and seeing that in Damon (whether it was an intentional acting choice or not) was nice.

What a journey, I remeber when I find you on youtube and I immediatelly subscribed because you impressed me so much, you were so young age and yet so preceptive, mature, reading charecter so well for a first timer, that set you apart immediatelly from other reactors. Well done. Enjoy the binge you are going to discover so many little gems, clues, forshadoing, little sentences, or little curiousities, like the number of episode coincide with Stefan age when he died, so cleverly planted by the wirters from season one that are connected with al seasons, that you discover only when you watch it again and again, tat gives to TVD that rewactability factr that very few show have. This is going to be part of your life, for good, is going to be ike for many of us in the list of your confort show. So, yes... it was epic. Thank you. 😊

Because Stefan among all the other characters, is the one that had the list arc development, the most problematic, the least self aware, The "child" inside him never become adult, untill season 8. Stefan never ask for forgiveness to anybody for the things he has done, forgiveness was hand over to him, too easely, by Damon because he loved his brother so much that had to parenting him, to protect him from their parents since he was child. Their relationsip is the one of a child and a parent, where Stefan was the golden boy and Damon was the scapegoat, in their household. The brothers realtionship is one of parenting on one side and guilt on the other, and because of that Stefan develop co-odipendance from Damon because he knows that no matter what, Damon will always, be there, take the blame for how he is as a vampire without fighting him back, like parents do with teenagers, that he would forgive him. He knows that Damon didn't deserve to be abused as he was by their parents. That gave Stefan the base to become who he is, a person that is non confrontational, Someone that value reputation more tat everything else, someone trained since he is a child t use Damon as escapegoat for everything, therfore has conflicting feelings towards Damon of love/look down on/ guilt/co-dependency. This complex relationship with Damon, didn't allow him to grow up self-aware of his own faults and accept them. Hei is frozen into being the golden boy forever, unaware of his faults, living in denial, he manipulate people, he plays victime, never to admit to himself how faulty he is. That is the base of Stefan self -righteousness, that stays pretty much unchanged until season 6, when he experience life without his "parent" Damon, and gradually start to grow up, as person, to come down to some realizations. But to make him completelly self aware, he had to do something so unforgivable that no amount of words, of smooth talking, would do, to shake him to the core. Therfore the killing of Enzo. The relationship between Bonnie and Enzo was built for this specific purpose, to make Stefan finally self-aware, realising that he'd never atone for anything that he has done, and that being human again he no time to do that, time was not on his side, Trefore he needed to finally realise things, like that Damon loves him more than he loves Elena and let himself see him no more like his parent. His self awareness made him see Damon for all he has done for him all his life and in doing so he find freedom from the codependence and finally become a whole person, seeing him as his brother again, "the one I look up to...the better man". Damon has already like that, it was Stefan that didn't reallise it untill now, untill he finally take responsibilities for his cation, and accept his faults, leaving all the traumas behind, noe they are clear, passed, resolved, Stefan is whole again, a person, not anymore his traumas, he left behing the guilty child and become an adult that decide to give his brother repay his brother for al that he gave to him by being force to be a parent an not just a brother, gave him the recognition he deserved and the life as human he took away from him, with the love of is life. Stefan in death got not only redempton, but clarity and growth, to be able to be in peace, totally and fully from such a troubled life. I think was a beautiful poetic ending for Stefan character, that was so unresolved, untill season 8, and the writer were able to elevated this character immensely by closing the circle in the most poetic remption arc that Stefan character could have.

Thank you Harry for taking us all on this TVD journey with you, I am in denial that there won't be another episode coming out! I remember watching you on season 4 and thinking ah we have a whole other half to this show left so we have ages, and yet that time has now come and it has come so fast! Although I am looking forwards to the originals returning to the channel. Once the time comes when the originals has ended that is when it won't feel real that the TVDU is over!!

This has been an incredible journey with you Harry, totally. Loved all the discussions over the years, deep character talks and everything. We cried with you, laughed with you, yelled with you lol loved every bit of it. I always bawl my eyes out with Stefan dieing specially seeing him reunite with Lexi and obvs with his bro just always breaks my heart but is also so beautiful to see knowing in the end they all find peace and are reunited with their loved ones. My fav is season 6 it had such amazing storylines and one of my fav with Bamon being besties, watching elena and Damon reunite and find their way to each other again is so special to me, then obvs Stefan and Caroline getting it on this season is beautiful to see their Kiss in episode 14 is one of the highlights for me. Liz dieing is so freaking heartbreaking but also it was so beautifully done and watching Liz's last moments with Damon melts my heart and specially his Eulogy written by him for her broke me but was again so freaking beautiful. Seeing Damon care for Stefan even more than his own mom when she came back was something so beautiful and for me Defan had one of the best moments in S6 so that was the highlight for me that Defan hug in Ep 5 is one of the greatest for me in the entire show so so heartwarming. The prison world storyline with jo and all was so well done. Last but not the least KAI one of the best villians of the show for me came from S6 so yeah S6 is my fav. Will miss you Harry and you're TVD reactions so much....

Hi, I wish I was rewatching with you. I watched when the show was airing and I have rewatched. I personally have grown to despise the show. The message the show sends to Stefan fans is Stefan can only find peace/happiness dead. They had him commit suicide. I think either both brothers die or neither. To me towards the end the show forgot what it was, The Vampire Diaries, the first narration is from Stefan and he says this is his story so basically his story starting in season 2 is sacrificing every piece of happiness he has for his brother. I also hated that kept bringing up the “forced Damon to turn” Damon wanted to turn for Katherine. Sorry his 17 year old brother didn’t wanna believe alone. Sorry Damon, 25, wasn’t doing anything to protect his younger brother from this old Vampire. Sorry the reason I hate they kept bringing it up is because 1:19 Damon says I don’t hate you because you made me turn, I hate you because you turned you too, it was just supposed to be me. 2:22 Damon says to Elena tell Stefan I’m sorry I made terrible choices that lead me here. I personally think Damon’s redemption was never shown. Him becoming him is his redemption. Sorry for being long winded. Glad you liked the you, I wish I could start by appreciating it. 😔 also Enzo deserved it, he was an ass all season 6.
