806 Maw of the Ruby Dragon - (D&D 5e + Shadowdark) (Patreon)

Denizens of the Tower! In Maw of the Ruby Dragon, the characters, shrouded in bravery or foolishness, climb Northcrest Mountain to confront the ruby dragon. The strange draconic entity is, in reality, a hapless explorer named Eustace Gibett. The characters may have learned by now that, while the dragon/Eustace, is guilty of many deaths and tragedies, he is but another victim of a terrible curse. With this knowledge, the characters may attempt to spare his life.

In the volcano, the characters encounter an ancient construction that was abandoned centuries ago. This compound has been claimed by the dragon as its lair. Ominous runes on the floor reveal that, as the dragon takes more and more lives, the volcano awakens. If the ruby dragon is not stopped, the dormant volcano shall erupt and decimate the entire region. This is the characters' chance to make things right and earn the glory and renown they have been looking for.
