Here's a church illustration with a second level and a basement where a necromancer is carrying experiments on living things and some kidnapped townsfolk. He has a strange condition that makes his skin burn in direct sunlight, his objective is to graft other people's skins to his body to overcome his problem.

The laboratory is filled with crystal containers where unliving things float, awaiting to take part in the next experiment.
