Another fun fact, because XAS adapted the Dark Phoenix storyline so faithfully to Chris Claremont's run, he's credited as a writer for this series of episodes. Also, the reason they justified Jean Grey surviving/resurrecting at the end of the saga was that she didn't kill the D'Bari. Claremont thought it wasn't right that Jean Grey genocided the broccoli people and got to live at the end of it, so when they changed the D'Bari system to be devoid of life, she didn't kill anyone, so she could be brought back to life.
