Its SO much fun rewatching with you guys!! 😆🐉

If it makes you guys feel any better, even the most die-hard Game of Thrones fans were shocked/grossed out by the incest aspect of episode 4 (at least the ones who hadn't read the book this show is based on and knew it was coming). It exists in the original show too, but as something that the protagonists in the show (and we the audience) are disgusted by, not as something that is normalized or accepted.

Idk… I’m thankful to be getting this reactions been watching you guys since superhero news… idk. Can tell the investment is like… 50-50 and idk if you guys got swarmed by the comments to do this but as big of a fan I am of GOT and HOTD I’d rather see you guys react to some things you love or have never seen that have always interested you. Seeing Hector get taken out time and time again or talk over some key important parts to be like what’s going on? Is like… idk again I’m THANKFUL. Just.. if this doesn’t rock the boat by the finale don’t do S2 if the investment really isn’t there.

Also, in addition to the Inside the Episodes that Hector mentioned, HBO Max had a weekly "making of" show called The House that Dragons Built with VFX breakdowns and interviews with the concept artists, production designers, and stunt coordinators of each episode that will answer some of those "is this a composite or is it The Volume?" questions you guys have had.

As an avid fan of the ASOIAF series, I implore you guys to just skip GoT, it’s really not worth your time. It started out great and was a cultural phenomenon, but the last few seasons are non-canon, trashy fan-fiction (think Rise of Skywalker levels of bad writing but worse). Yes, the books aren’t done and we don’t know the ending, but the show runners were clueless and ruined any character development they had been successful with for the show in the early seasons. If you are interested in this universe, GoT will not provide you with a fun time, the main series and extended universe works are where it’s at. Some notes for this episode: 1- The woman in the beginning was Rhea Royce. The “bronze bitch” Daemon was arranged to marry, but never got along with. He killed her so that he could feasibly marry someone else and not be attached to her anymore. The other woman from the early episodes was just his mistress. 2- Laenor Velaryon is gay, the metaphor about duck and goose was them talking about their sexual preferences. So they are agreeing to marry each other for the sake of their houses, but are acknowledging they are not romantically interested in each other. 3- When Alicent made her entrance, her wearing green is her showing pride in her own family (house Hightower, located in Oldtown) whose color is green. This is important because it’s in direct conflict of black and red for Targaryen’s. She is no longer just a child bride to Viserys and his opinions, this is her becoming a new player as Queen of the realm, along with her children that put Rhaenyra’s claim under pressure/question. Also, check out Daemon still sitting with his legs up, he doesn’t give a damn about Alicent lol 4- Larys, the guy with the club foot who was talking to Alicent in front of the Weirwood tree, is the younger brother of the new hand of the king. They are from house Strong. 5- The woman Daemon danced with at the wedding is Laena Velaryon, the 12 year old girl who was put forth to be wed to Viserys in episode 2. 6- The next episode has a big time jump where we will see adult Rhaenyra and Alicent, we will no longer see the same 2 actresses portraying these characters! The first episodes served as a prologue for “the good stuff”. I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the show!

"even most die-hard Game of Thrones fans were shocked/grossed out by the incest aspect". Every viewer was supposed to be grossed out. It's incest. I think a mistake some people make is thinking that to enjoy these shows you have to adjust your morality for the setting. You don't need to think that incest is okay. You don't need to think that violence is okay. You don't need to think that it's okay for people to abuse their power. The show is trying to make you upset at these things. The people who adjusted their morality to fit Game of Thrones were the ones who were surprised when Danaerys "turned" bad, when in fact they had been overlooking her awful behaviour for 8 seasons. When the war hero beats his wife, it doesn't mean the show has a complicated sense of morality, it means he isn't a hero

Hector: Is Spider-verse in 3D confirmed? Me: Hector pay attention!!! Lol I promise you guys these 5 episodes were just the prologue, now the actual story starts and it gets REAL, real fast!!!

Welcome to Short Attention Span Theatre!

I usually try explaining some points that were missed or completely wrong but now ima just sit back and enjoy the show. Watching where Hector’s mind goes when he isn’t enjoying himself, that’s the real show for me. Tune in every week to just watch Hector (not)react to the show

The whole "Hector, focus!" bit was hilarious! And it looks like Adam and Agustin are enjoying it and fully invested in the drama now, even if they all are still playing catch-up on parts of the lore and family trees and missing some of the more subtle hints (that might not even be noticed by most people on a first viewing anyways). They are still eventually piecing together all of the actually important details. And, even though Hector doesn't seem to be into it as much, I still enjoy his commentary. Especially with things like calling out how Emilia Clarke's advocacy for herself a decade ago may have affected how this show handled nude scenes. Love that kind of insight.

Myles Away

I love that kind of insight too. I just wish the longer conversations like that would be saved for a post-show discussion.

Hector: Is Spider-Man coming out in 3D? Hector, five minutes later: Show, you gotta explain this stuff to me, I don't understand the significance.

Christopher

For real, this isn't the show to be having side bar conversations or cutting the tension during slow dialogue scenes with quirky quips and stuff, but alas here we are with them not understanding the significance of certain comments and scenes that were explained seconds before or set up in previous episodes. Gotta be cotton candy content like She-Hulk or Mando I guess

Martin

Loved this reaction! I’m glad you guys are enjoying this so much

They are buddies, sometimes they wanna chat, it happens
