Hey everyone, I'm back with a new post for y'all! In continuing with reposting my old stories with new introductions, or "writer's commentary" as I call it, here's the second bondage story I wrote, and it features one of my favorite superheroines, Black Scorpion!

I first discovered Black Scorpion in my formative teen years. It was a short lived television show on the SciFi Channel (now SyFy) based on two low budget Roger Corman produced B-Movies. Neither the show or movies were anything special storywise, nothing more than a female Batman rip-off in a skimpy outfit fighting gimmicky villains who were all rip-offs of Batman's rogues, but I didn't mind that. Every week I tuned hoping that I would be able to see the titular scantily clad superheroine end up bound and gagged at the hands of one of her villains. To be honest, I never really paid attention to what was happening in the plot, I really only watched hoping for a bondage scene. While the show featured plenty of peril, unmaskings, knock-outs, and some bondage, sadly Black Scorpion herself was never bound and gagged. Alas, though the show only lasted a season and is largely forgotten, the character of Black Scorpion has lived rent free in my head ever since.

Fantasies and scenarios of Black Scorpion bound, gagged, and helpless at the hands of her enemies still fill my head to this day. After I finished my Lara Croft serial, I knew that Black Scorpion would be next. One thing that most of the characters I write about have in common is that they don't really have any mainstream bondage scenes of their own, with the exception of Catwoman and Phantom Lady. I think part of the reason why I've stayed away from writing characters like Daphne Blake or April O'Neil is that even though I love those damsels, there's so much damsel content of them out there, and I wanted to write about ladies who hadn't been explored as damsels.

Though April O'Neil does play a part in this story, in a way. Black Scorpion's very first scene in this story is taken from the episode of the classic Ninja Turtles cartoon called "April's fool". In that episode, Shredder and his cronies attempt to kidnap a princess for ransom who happens to look identical to April. They capture April instead, and Shredder reveals his plan is to pass April off as the princess long enough to collect the ransom on her, if she can "keep that pretty little mouth shut."

"Not a chance, Shredder!" April cries defiantly, prompting Shredder to gag her so she doesn't reveal his plan.

This scene inspired me to come up with an idea where Black Scorpion's enemies crash a costume party looking to kidnap the Mayor's daughter, who happens to be dressed as Black Scorpion. Of course, in an ironic twist, the bad guys capture the real Black Scorpion and much the TMNT scene, gag her so they can pass her off as the Mayor's daughter long enough to collect the ransom.

Irony is always a good tool to have in your writer's tool box, especially with writing damsel in distress scene. Dramatic irony is when the audience is aware of something but the characters are not, so in this case, the audience knows that Shredder is holding April hostage, not the princess, but none of the other characters are aware. Another example is a classic scenario in which one character is searching an old house or something for a kidnapped damsel, who could be locked in a room or closet and unable to call to the potential rescuer because of they're gagged. Not only does a good use of irony help build suspense in a scene, but it can also emphasize the damsel's helplessness and frustration, making for more gag talk and struggles, which makes the scene sexier.

Much like my Lara Croft story, I was still writing from the seat of my pants with this one. I knew what situations I wanted to place Black Scorpion in but didn't really have the connecting tissue for it. The second part of this story, with a bound and gagged Black Scorpion as a prisoner of Greenthumb, in particular gave me a lot of trouble because I didn't know where to go with it. I've always really enjoyed the character of Batman and read a lot of old Batman comics when I was younger, as well as watched the animated series and old Adam West. One thing these different Batman incarnations have in common is that just about every character, Batman especially, gets captured and tied up a lot. In a lot of my Black Scorpion fantasies, I just replace Batman with her and spice the scene up a bit .

For the third scene in this story, in which Black Scorpion's alter ego, Detective D'Arcy Walker, is attacked at the dentists office, I was inspired by the classic Batman story Mad Love. Originally in this scene it's Commissioner Gordon who is attacked by Joker and Harley Quinn, strapped to a dental chair, and gagged before Batman saves the day. Once I figured out where I wanted this story to go, I thought it would be a fun and ironic twist if Gangster Prankster and his henchgirl were going after Detective Walker to get to Black Scorpion, completely unaware that they are one and the same.

The rest of the storyline in this is also heavily influenced by Batman: The Animated Series, namely the episode called Trial. In that episode, Batman is kidnapped by his enemies and imprisoned in Arkham where a DA, a vocal Batman critic, is also kidnapped and forced to defend him in a kangaroo court. Batman spends most of the episode a prisoner, bound in a straight jacket.

Of course, I made some sexy adjustments to this scene. Much like in my story, Batman is knocked out with a dart, and when we next see him he's being dragged down the hall of Arkham by his feet. I made some changes where Black Scorpion is knocked out by a dart in her buttocks, and when we next see her being dragged down the hallway, she's gagged as well as straight jacketed. I decided to go with another classic scenario that I love, which is when a person on trial is gagged for talking too much, where I have it that Black Scorpion's enemies take off her gag for her trial but she gets too mouthy and spends the rest of the trial gagged.

The next big scene that I have in this story is when DA Yates and Black Scorpion are left bound and gagged in the store room by the bad guys. This scene was inspired by one of the Naked Gun movies where Leslie Nielson and another guy are bound and gagged against a shelf and Leslie is trying to cut through his ropes, which is also causing things to fall off the shelf onto the head of the other prisoner, who tries to protest through his gag. Of course I thought that this scene would be greatly improved with two ladies, and once again it's a good example of irony, as stuff keeps falling on Black Scorpion's head, but she can't tell Yates to stop because of the gag.

And of course, earlier this year I had the artist Keely Key bring my version of these scene to life in a commission.

As I said earlier, I wasn't where to go with this story, or how to end it. I opted to go for an open ending where Black Scorpion leaves Yates imprisoned underground, with a hint that she may just leave her there, bound, gagged, and forgotten. It's kinda dark when you think about it. Originally my intent was to leave it so that the reader could take it any way they wanted but I've written a few more stories with Black Scorpion since and haven't mentioned Yates since, so if you want to go dark, you can imagine that maybe one day someone will find a bound and gagged skeleton locked in a room below the prison..
