Great reaction! So excited for the rest of the story to unfold. I really like this episode for all the insight we get for Shin's mindset. I also think from Shin's perspective, the loss of Lena (from the Republic's collapse) is another big reason for why he can't see a future for himself. Like everyone he cares for is now gone or going to be.

Well written episode, and really show cased how depressed person feels like Shin is currently. Depression makes you totally not wish for anything and people who do wish things makes you feel like you aren't alive. As a person who has struggled with that I truly resonated with this episodes monologue. Anyway to finish this off, I am now better off and for all suffering from that just make it through and slowly try do new stuff until you find things you like to do.

Something I feel gets overlooked is Shin being labeled "The Reaper". While it seems like a cool nickname, it was definitely a derisive term that only began to lose that stigma once he made it to Spearhead. Shin has been in a bunch of units, has had to execute fallen Processors because he's one of the very few who knows what the Legion are doing with the brains, and is always touted as the last survivor. On top of the racial discrimination faced among the 86 (his parents are from Giad), his reputation was probably very similar to what we saw once he was introduced to the Federacy's army; an omen of death, a bad luck charm that will end up being the only survivor while everyone else dies. He begins to fully internalize that moniker to the point where he really doesn't see a future, only a time where he's eventually going to be all alone with no reason to live.
