Rugby league or AFL?

Devil Ray Charles

Uhhhh … like on Zoom? Or is his identity going to be revealed ?

Ben

It's being revealed I believe, Im pretty sure they said something about it on the last q&a ep

Here I was thinking Casey was going to go "bagman" on us all with a paper bag on his head with eye holes. Have the greatest time, and if the Morbid Gal's are there, please get pics all together, I think Ash and Alaina would just about die if they got introduced to Casey. Did you ever think when you started out with the first episode (Wanda Beach) that you'd have this much success? How on earth have you done it without becoming affiliated with Wondery, acast, parcast, etc?

Cara

Whoa! I can’t wait.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Casey to reveal his identity after all this time? I've always felt like his anonymity lent itself an extra level of integrity to the show and was a refreshing change from so many who go into "true crime" for fame, fortune and accolades. It's his choice and I respect his decision, I just personally would love for him to remain anonymous. Either way, Casey and team, have the best time at CrimeCon.

Casefile

Hi Annie. People will see my face (you can google it anyway) but I'm not revealing myself as such. I'll be talking about Casefile and the Casefile Presents show Bakersfield Three - not about me or who I am. It's not for accolades. After 9 years, I am actually looking forward to meeting some people. It can get isolating sitting behind your screen in your spare bedroom trying to live up too this anonymous thing.

Taryn-Lee Biggar

I'm never not calling him Casey. Reveal or not.

Annie G

Thanks for the reply, Casey! I know you're not in for accolades or you never would have started out as an anonymous host. I hadn't considered how isolating it would be being anonymous - I think that's more than fair enough. Serious question, how do you deal with people thinking you're actually Chris Hemsworth? Does that add any pressure or insecurity as you gear up to reveal your "true" identity? I'm so grateful to you and this podcast and all the work you put into it. Thank you from all of us.

Casefile

Thanks Annie that’s very kind….and let’s just say there are going to be some very disappointed people 😂😂😂

Leah Bass

I am shook right now!!!

Robyn Stephens

That’s awesome. Man I wish I could go! 😭

Remember not to make the Casey reveal a big thing, the whole point of remaining anonymous (if I recall correctly) was to make the podcast about the victims and to ensure that they're the focus in the story, and not the narrator. The event is about The Bakersfield Three - yes it's exciting but I feel Casey would still want it to be about the story, rather than a big deal about his face. I look forward to the event being held in Australia too - if possible 😊 was such a brilliantly produced series.

Susan Rachel

That's exactly what he says in his response a few posts up. It's all about the victims but at least people will know what he looks like and be able to talk to him as Casey.

Susan Rachel

I haven't listened to the Bakersfield Three yet, but if you are taking general Q&A also: 1) What was your first introduction to true crime and how did you make the transition from it being an interest to it being a career? 2) What is one verdict that you would change if you had the power to? 3) Lots of people are excited to meet you. Who are you excited to meet here?

Leah Budd

No way!! 😂 Casey should remain anonymous! I know it won't take away from the victims and their stories, but I do think staying anonymous added a lot of intrigue to Case File

Demi

Your excitement in the update episode of the Golden State killer was palpable. Do you still get that excited when a case you've covered is solved? Which formerly unsolved case were you the most happy to hear was solved?

Raechel Decker

Are you planning on doing a particular case for your 300th episode later this year? I would love to see a 5 or 6 parter on a big case like Bundy or Green River.

Britany Henderson

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
