Case 49: The Moors Murders (Part 1) - Casefile: True Crime Podcast

The Saddleworth Moor is an area covering 400 square miles in the Peak District of North West England. More widely known as Greater Manchester. The Saddleworth Moor is a rich mixture of sweeping valleys, hills and plateaus falling away to fast-flowing streams. Rocky formations jut out of the blanketed, dense peat grass that covers the area.

Augh!!!!! I thought this day would never come! ☺️

I wondered from your teasers if it would be the moors murders! They are by far the most disturbing I've read about! I think not only the UK - but across the world - it was one of the hardest for people to move on from. The depravity and disregard for human life still ranks the perpetrators among the worst examples of human cruelty. No wonder the host had to pause the work and walk away at times!!! While it’s certainly bleak and dark, it's important for the case to remain known - and the unfortunate victims to be remembered. I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of comment from listeners about this case. PS - the video was absolutely chilling - an amazing piece of work!

AGH! Part 1 was so SO good. I can't wait for part 2. I knew I should have waited to listen... LOL

Thank you Kym, yes this case is disturbing in the extreme. Everything about it, absolutely depressing. Was a tough one!

I've driven over those moors many times and they are haunting. Not just because of this case, there is just an eerie atmosphere there and fog is often dense. A very intense episode but so well written as always!
