Soooooooo glad you’re back! 🙌😍 My weekends have not been the same without you!

Glad to see you covered this case. Such a frustrating, sad story, and it really makes you wonder how often this kind of petty criminal activity happens in other police forces, the sort that flies under the radar until something unexpected or devastating like this forces people to look closer.

I missed you! Kept checking daily to see when you'd be back. Before I start, my cousin is an amazing Police Officer. This case just furthers my opinion that we need - universally - to seek out some alternatives to policing. This man was revered and held in high regard, yet was a criminal himself. I don't know the answer. I just know there is huge problem and it transfixes borders, cultures and countries. I live in a small Ontario town. Three years ago, a white woman was having a mental health crisis. Her son had recently died. They (concerned friends) called 911 and she was shot dead. She had a 'butter' or 'paring' knife and was threatening to take her own life. She's now dead. She was shot dead by two police officers. Another universal theme is that these police officers are put on paid leave, and in Canada, The public are not privy to any internal investigation details. It doesn't make any sense at all. Thank you for this episode. It really made me delve down and reflect, think and sigh.

Was looking forward to the Casefile treatment of this case and it was worth it!

Brenda Wells

Gee, if he would have lived, he would have made a great candidate for governor of Illinois.

Also, Fox Lake is not in southern Illinois. It’s a far northwest suburb of Chicago; fairly close to Wisconsin.

Amber

I did not see that cause of death coming 😳

Laura Friedrich

The Casefile return did not disappoint! Two great new cases, I feel spoiled. :)

Demi

The way Casefile handles the account, I wish they did a Casefile Presents on white-collar crime around the world. I feel like they could do a great spin on fraud cases, especially ones like Olympus in Japan and Rita Crundwell in Illinois.

Cassidy

When I heard this I was like are they referring to a fox lake I don’t know about??

Megan Brennan

I worked with his cousin. John was such a gem. I was so sad when he died.

I’m not through the episode yet, but I participated in the Explorers program in high school and it was a great experience!
