That guard needs to die... and seeing the look on Lakan's face he probably will. Of course, seeing how every single person bowed and covered their faces in Jinshi's presence, I'm sure that guard is going to die very, very slowly. I don't think Lakan is behind the attack though, he's literally been bringing them clues the entire time. Taking a steel club to the face would have been devastating, hopefully they think to call for her father to treat her, as much as I like the doctor, he's not good enough. Amazing how they paid off the metalworker plot - the beam would be supported normally, but when they lit that brazier beneath it for the ceremony, the metal would soften as we saw in that episode. Clever timer to kill Jinshi. But I just really really hate that guard.

I think he couldn't really run because of his position and needing to appear dignified. If he was panicking it would show how much she truly meant to him and paint a target on her back, while carrying her might be explained away as thanks for saving him, and all the other's were just panicked because a Royal was nearly assassinated, if he had died they could have all lost their lives. That wasn't enough bleeding to kill her quickly and it would likely clot soon, but Jinshi was in the military since he described their camps during their date with the chicken skewers so he likely knows some about wounds.
