Weekly Update - 161 (Patreon)
Content
So a little bit of news, I've asked the Patreon admins to swap my account from 18+ to All Ages and they have approved the request. The reason being because the credit card companies are forcing Patreon to impose more restrictions on 18+ creators, and since I don't draw anything that's strictly 18+ here, I figured there's no reason for me to subject myself to those new restrictions. This has the added benefit of allowing my webcomic to show up in search results on Patreon! Woo! Does anyone actually search for things on Patreon? I don't know! I never have, honestly. I only ever click Patreon links from creators I'm already following somewhere else. Though if you use another engine like Google it probably searches Patreon for you, so maybe that will make the comic more discoverable. Who knows!
Still trucking along on Volume #1 this week. Didn't make as much progress as I would have liked to last week, namely because my numbering scheme gets really confusing in Chapter 2 and I decided I needed to redraw Page 21 almost in its entirety. It looks way better, IMO, but really, I shouldn't have gone this far with it.
In retrospect, I don't think it is worth the time investment to completely redraw any entire page, no matter how much I think I might be able to improve it. I've been drawing comics for five years now... and I don't want to spend the next five years redrawing those same comics. And I can't! Because my arbitrary and totally not concrete self-imposed deadline for finishing Volume #1 is before the end of THIS year, and I'm hoping to have it done around August.
Volume #1 Progress: 21/72
Character Sheets on deck:
MagentiumPRIME - Landlord Tier
NEED DEETS - Michael - Redtail Tier
NEED DEETS - Ikato - Trader Tier
NEED DEETS - BorderlineAxo - Trader Tier
So for those of you whom I still need deets from, PM me on Patreon or on Discord when you want. At this point, I'm kinda like, sending me your character deets is optional. If I don't have them when it comes around to time for me to draw them, I'll just move on to the next thing. Then if you hit me up ten years from now and you're like, "hey remember when you promised to draw this thing for me?" I'll just be like, "oh yeah I remember" and then I'll just draw it for you then. So no pressure either way!
Gonna skip the Ramble this week, just because I need to get through more of these comic pages.
