I was finally discharged from the hospital a few hours ago.

My pneumonia was caused by an atypical pathogen, so standard antibiotics were not effective. It took a while for the doctors to identify it, but once they had identified it, they were able to find the right antibiotic.

It was about two weeks of severe fever and I must admit that I thought I was going to die. I needed oxygen assistance and the antibiotics were so strong that the intravenous sessions were painful, even causing phlebitis in my arms. My infinite gratitude to Chicobo who took care of me all these days in the hospital, without him I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to get through all this.

My breathing capacity is not yet fully recovered and I have to wait at least a month to be truly healthy (I hope, but sooner is better).

I will have to take it easy at first but I will do my best to bring you new pages and pictures soon.

Thank you so much for all the support and goodwill messages. You are a truly wonderful community.

Thank you very much again and best regards to you all.

Great news! Be careful going forward. I'd strongly recommend getting the flu and covid boosters if you haven't already. You really don't want to be fighting and recovering from multiple illnesses. I got covid, bronchitis and then Covid again on top of bronchitis last year and it was awful! I was coughing for almost 3 months. And if it doesn't put too much strain on your lungs, I'd wear a mask around other people until you've recovered. Glad you're ok!
