I started in the same boat as far as "I Like Me Better." I do not like the original song, but for me it was because the lyrics also felt empty along with the arrangement. With Jae's cover, I feel like the music is even more stripped back, but he fills the lyrics with warmth and emotion that the original doesn't have.

Esosa, sometimes I feel like you can read my mind in advance on that last play through during cant take my eyes off of you I was like it is perfect but slow down the video!!! and then you did. chef's kiss lol. I Like me better was a popular back then but if people came for the song they watched again for the visuals. I think the visuals is what really drew people in and jaehyun's beautiful voice of course. Doyoung's covers are so great as well one of my favorites it the I dont wanna be you anymore cover he did. Also, for NCT show content I recommend doing the nct show they did last year because they mix wavy, 127 and dream together so you get a different group of the guys each show and they change up the activity each 1 or 2 episodes as well

i actually decided to check out on jaehyun after his i like me better cover. that was when i realised hes really good looking and has the voice that i like so that cover drew a lot of ppl into him and also nct. like i said on discord i didnt like the og song too but jh's smooth vocal made the song his like his version is much better than the og.

Try Again is still one of my favorites! Everything about it is simply perfect, from both their voices to his styling to the asthetic of the whole MV! d.ear is a respected singer-songwriter and he also wrote and composed the song himself - so it was quite the honor for Jaehyun, who was still considered a rookie then, to sing with him! And the song is just so beautiful, I‘m glad that it got the positive tiktok treatment and much more people got to enjoy it 💚 They also performed it together on NCT nightnight! https://youtu.be/KHBmcR_XFG8 I‘m pretty sure that d.ear harmonizes with himself during the first chorus!

Like I already mentioned in discord the I Like Me Better cover is pretty special for Jaehyun fans from that time, because firstly it‘s meant to be a present for his fans - I‘d suspect that he recorded his vocals in the most basic setup without help from the company and simply put them over the original instrumental, while the filming for the MV was probably just as spontanious, with him hitting the streets with his manager and a camera between tour stops; and secondly was this was the first song solely by him, what felt like heaven after he‘d been a bit underutilized in NCT songs for awhile. And I think this cover blew up so much, because the song was extremly popular then and many non-kpop fans enjoyed his cover as well, his english sounds really natural and the visuals of the MV feed into the whole boyfriend-vibe asthetic, which was just as popular! I was just so proud that this little project of his got so much positive feedback and attention, and made people realize that he‘s more than just a pretty face!

Hi , Can you react to DoJaeJung “our scented-scented vacance” it only has 2 episodes. It’s chaotic lol. All 3 are unhinged especially Jaehyun + Jungwoo. I’m very curious of your reaction.
