Yaaay more EXO! Nothing really is clear and stated for future plans with Lay as an EXO member, is he coming back to the group he’s continuing his solo career. But as fans always asks Lay about his plans with exo, he often says that they meet and hangout together whenever he’s in Korea and that he can’t really be sure on what is gonna happen. But for now he manages his company which SM kind of have some shares with I think? Not sure about that, the only thing we know rn is that he hasn’t announced anything about him leaving the group.

He officially left the company but is part of the group. he keeps talking about being a member of the group. The first restrictions started around 2017 with Korean-Chinese political conflicts which didn't let K-pop groups promote in China. he moved to China then and now it seems like they are doing their own thing (the 8 as a unit and him solo). basically, he is participating whenever the schedule permits I suppose? there is no transparency here so we are just taking their word for it and enjoying whats given :]

I understand your confusion about the MV plot :D but it is all connected to EXO's concept of them coming from space and having superpowers. Maybe you'll watch some guide later where it will be explained in more detail, but basically, there's a superpower assigned to each member: Suho - Water, Xiumin - Frost, D.O - Force, Chanyeol - Fire, Chen - Thunder, Baekhyun - Light, Kai - Teleportation, Sehun - Wind, Lay - Healing. From what I think, EXO members in this MV are held as human subjects for the unknown experiment, against their will apparently since they try to escape, and each member uses his superpower to stop the nurses from holding them back. The only thing that confused me while watching it for the first time back then was the fact that Kai dances instead of using teleportation :D but I heard that it was intended to be a spoiler, because what he dances is the choreo from 'Monster', and 'Lucky One' was planned to be released earlier than 'Monster'. But both MVs ended up releasing on the same day.

As others said, only Kris, Luhan (in 2014) and Tao (in the first half of 2015 before 'Love me Right') left EXO prematurely and sued SM. Lay left SM only when his contract officially and legally ended in 2022. And he wasn't in a lot of MVs due to his activities in China and K-pop being banned in China, that's why he was swinging back and forth and yeah, has been green-screened into 'Tempo' and 'Don't fight the feeling'. As for the member who is in jail now, it's Kris. I was shocked to find out that he's a convicted criminal, he was found guilty of rape and jailed last year in China. I even saw some compilation of EXO live stages on Korean youtube channel for the 11 years of their career and they had to blur Kris's face. I think you should know that, but I hope it won't gross you out from watching EXO's old MVs and live stages. Kris as a criminal does not deserve any positive recognition, but he did was an EXO member in the past and it cannot be changed. I think we all wish he never was a part of this amazing group, but their discography is so good since the debut, and all the hard work of the rest of the members deserves attention and respect.
