The car chase is one of my favorite scenes in this show. In previous episodes, they showed that there was a group against Rajan's father because they were introducing anti-religion legislature using the money from their pharmaceutical company.

The reason why they attacked Kala’s father in law is because he was a wealthy pharmaceutical giant who was supporting legislation that would forbid Hindu practices (at least according to the people at the temple in a previous episode). This is also alluded to since he wanted to modernize the wedding ceremony, whereas Kala and her family wanted a more traditional wedding. Also, I completely understand why Hernando chose to break up with Lito. From when he was first introduced, he’s made it clear that he wishes for the day when his relationship with Lito can be made public. But, after seeing him pretty much abandon Daniela with no regard for her safety, Hernando knows that Lito will always choose his career over his personal relationships (“I don’t want to be anyone’s secret” from YR vibes 😭). I’m sure they will find some way to work it out (after all of the development that was spent on them after all lol). But still, my heart was hurting after this episode.

Glad you are really getting into it now. I've only ever binged this show so I didn't really realise the tipping point for the "plot meat". I think you are right in that this show can make you feel happy about life, and people. I think people that really love this show will tend to be people that value other people and can empathise with other people. If you can't connect to these characters then you probably won't like it. I really enjoyed the contrast between seeing Kala crying and Wolfgang having a stoic manner. Showed the true feelings he was experiencing whilst also showing that side of being taught not to cry because you are a boy/man. Jeff already gave you the reason for why Rajan's father was attacked but just to give a reminder of the scene where in the temple some Hindu men told Kala to pray for Rajan's father AND Rajan's death. I think when first watching this I thought the Lito/Hernando break up was a bit sudden but I do really understand why Hernando did it. Regardless of the situation, letting someone be in violent setting just to save image or a career, I'd like to think I would never allow that. Even if I understand Lito's desperate fear of it coming out.

The characters are soooo well written. Its hard to decide which you like better. You really do fall in love with all of them. What an amazing show. There is nothing else like it. You are feeling the love now that the rest of us have for this show
