I really wanted to check this out with my mom so I hope you guys enjoy this reaction LOL - Excuse the random stopping during 1 point because my mom had to use the bathroom (due to her Diabetes)

This musical was soooo MOVING! i did not expect to cry or to even feel as strongly as I did about it. I've heard of "Wicked" before but never seen the musical on broadway so went into this not really knowing the story.

I was very much surprised!

The way I saw this popped up on my email at 5am and watched the ENTIRE thing hahaha. awww i love it, your mom is so fun! also I was not expecting to cry as much as I did but this musical was really touching! Also, fun fact: Idina played the original Elphaba on Broadway and the blonde one (Kristin Chenowith - Descendants Mom) played the original Glinda so it's a fun cameo for Oz fans! Can't wait for Part 2!!

That was so much fun! First of all, good movie. I especially liked Ariana Grande in this one, she really nailed the mannerisms and delivery, but honestly everyone was good in it. The songs were good as well, not my favorite musical numbers of all time, but good. The story is excellent so far, can't wait for part 2. Now, second of all, if you do part 2 as well, you have to do it with your mother. She is hilarious! I love the banter and comments. I think you guys managed to make the film even better this way!

Specifically because I think you'll enjoy it Caitlin -- I'm not sure if you realized, but Dr. Dillamond is voiced by Peter Dinklage (Tyrion). (And for your mom, Fiyero is Jonathan Bailey, aka Anthony Bridgerton among other things.) The two stage players in the Emerald City were Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, the original Elphie and Glinda! But you're right, Idina's in Frozen (and RENT), and Kristin was in Descendants.

so during the OzDust party, Ariana intentionally did not want to learn the dance in rehearsals so that it felt more real and authentic that she was learning the dance in the moment from Elphaba. To me that made it even more special.

No I’ve never seen it but I have seen the wiz? The one with Michael Jackson but that was like so long ago. I don’t think they’re the same thing? Idk kinda confused on it lol I thought this was a whole separate thing. I had no idea it was connected in any way.

Yeah it is connected, they made Wicked after the wizard of Oz obviously because that movies really old! But it’s the Wicked Witch of the West back story and all the characters from wizard of Oz are in Wicked (but hidden, like the scarecrow, tin man, etc.) and the movie is in two parts because that’s how the Musical is! The movie followed the musical soo well and I loved it! Your reaction to the end was me when I first saw the musical, I CRIED😂 thanks for reacting to it🥰

This is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz! So she really is dead in the beginning which happens at the end of the wizard of oz when Dorothy dumps a bucket of water on her but this all happens before! Cynthia and Arianna absolutely killed it and I'm so excited for part 2

Oh one thing I meant to comment. So Madam Morrible really is horrible like you stated and she's named that way for a reason. When it starts to rain, she says her specialty is the weather and she pushes the rain clouds away. However, earlier in the movie in Dr. Dillamond's class they discuss how people started to turn on the animals when The Great Drought started. Madam Morrible is the one who caused The Great Drought because she would push the rain away to make people think it's because of the animals but really it was her and the Wizard's doing.

You should react to the wizard of oz here! It’s so old but it’s iconic. Also if you lay attention to the opening scene you’ll notice Glinda is actually upset, she’s playing the part of the person everyone expects her to be, someone who hates the wicked witch, even though she knows elphie isn’t wicked. I also love the scene during the wizard and I when elohaba talks about a prophecy of a celebration through it all of Oz all to do with her (this references the opening scene No one mourns the wicked.) she had a vision of her own downfall.

Just to let you know, The wizard of Oz movie was just an adaptation of the original Oz books. And it actually was NOT a faithful retelling of the story. The Wiz was more accurate. Wicked takes some things from the Oz movie and the original oz books and mix it all together.
