This episode brought the action, the intrigue and an ending that truly surprised me!

Diogo! FedEx on the breaching pods? I guess FedEx still exists hundreds of years into the future. It was interesting hearing your take on Fred Johnson way back then knowing what we learned about him this episode.

For some reason the opening sequence in Prime occurs after the UN meeting at the start of this episode instead of before it.

FedEx is forever. They were the only shipping company to recognize the need for interplanetary shipping and the others just fell to the wayside. Wait was that episode not implying that Fred was behind Anderson station? 😅 Either way, I took it as he was and this episode as the reveal of what really happened and I suspect when I release that episode on YouTube the comments will validate my being 2 months ahead.

Oh boy they've even slightly re-edited some of the episodes. Where do you think is the best place for me to add a sync point?

Golladan

At this point it's hard to tell. This is the first time I see that happen. Also it's the first time I had to pause your video a few times as some scenes were going out of sync. Granted my experience here is limited to just season 2. So just 2 episodes.

Oh you're definitely meant to think that. Just a quirk of watching a reaction video with foreknowledge. We get to see what you're thinking at the time knowing what will happen down the line, but not being able to comment at the time to avoid spoilers.

It's always a neat trick if you can pull it off to have your villains genuinely believe they're doing the right thing, and this is one of the best cases I've seen. You truly believe that Holden and Fred would start to come around to the sheer logic of this guy's argument after just a couple minutes of him making his case.

Personally, I prefer the episodes on Prime. SyFy always tweaked their episodes for broadcast (mostly by changing a little dialog), but the "official episodes" available for purchase were the unedited, streaming versions, and those are the ones available on Prime today. Of course beginning with S4 this is all moot since only the streaming versions are available, as SyFy was no longer in the picture.

Just a little easter egg here: The actor playing Dresden, Daniel Kash, had one of his first acting jobs as Spunkmeyer on Aliens in 1986. Ty Frank, half of the writing duo who wrote all the novels of The Expanse, loved the Alien movies (well, 1 and 2) and they were probably influential on his eventual foray into writing science fiction. He also loved the atmosphere of Alien, just a bunch of blue collar workers doing their jobs in space. So Ty absolutely loved that they were able to get Kash to play Dresden for this series! RIP evil one!
