This story naturally got a ton of accusations of being full of padding to stretch to ten episodes, and this episode got hit especially hard for having no forward movement and feeling like you could cut almost everything. It’s up to each viewer if the greater word building is worth it.

Hey! Not sure if you ever found out why but this still isn't in sync with mine. Although I did notice in this episode that the cut is different. The sex scene isn't in mine at all. I'll never understand why they make tv shows different everywhere lol

Oh man, I just finished editing this one and while I can say I enjoyed it, a lot of interesting character moments, at least half of the story beats in this episode could have been streamlined.

It has to just be that they have it in a different frame rate + different cuts in Australia. My best guess, it sucks though! Sorry.

As much as I hate Jilly, I love the actress and loved her in Six Feet Under. The whole US vs UK terminology scene is a bit cringe to me, but the "pants vs trousers" did remind me of a funny story you might enjoy. I'm originally from Scotland, now live in the US and my wedding was in the US. We got my dad a Tux and someone from the US side was working with him for measurements etc. I get a phone call from my dad "what kind of wedding is this? why am I being asked to wear pants, vest, and suspenders?" In the UK these would be called "trousers, waistcoat, and braces." What he heard was "underpants, undershirt, and the garter that holds stockings up." Basically my dad thought we were dressing him like something out the Rocky Horror Show 🤣🤣

haha oh your pooe Dad, that's so funny!!! I agree about the scene though, it definitely came across as a meta wink at the audience, "see we're on for Americans now and we know it" and I don't come to Torchwood for that. 😅 but the trousers scene later made it worth it.

OMG it's getting so intense. While I remember all the story beats, I forgot how intense everything was. Esther is adorable. I really like her and the strength she's showing. Rex takes the important Torchwood role of "arsehole". And they talked about my precious Ianto. Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto) jokes to this day that he wishes Ianto lived so he could go to LA. That scene with Jack and Oswald is so good. Because Jack knows what it is to kill a child (very different context). And OOOF! In the feels.

Ianto in LA would have been so much fun! Rex does play the role well, too well maybe 😅 That Jack and Oswald scene was really well done. It really hits after COE.
