VIP NOTES:

1) Before we get started, just remember to never enter your Ledger seed phrase anywhere - you are simply connecting your Ledger to Phantom, not loading your Ledger seed phrase into Phantom.

2) You will need your Ledger device to interact with your Ledger wallet within Phantom - by default this will be read-only, as Ledger is still required to authorise transactions and interactions. However, we advise against using your Ledger account for online Web3 interactions, especially if it is treated as a cold storage account.

3) Phantom just becomes a layer on top, like how a banking app is a layer on top of your banking accounts, but all of the security is on the Ledger for approval to send, burn, etc. So think of it as a read-only view of your Ledger wallet within Phantom, but if you want to use Phantom to transfer things you can do that as long as your Ledger is connected and you approve the transactions.

How to Use Ledger to Store Pyth via Phantom

  1. Install the Solana apps onto your Ledger.
  2. Enable Blind Signing for apps.
  3. Connect your Ledger to Phantom.
  4. Open Phantom and click on the hamburger icon at the top-left corner of the wallet.
  5. Click on the "+" button that says "Add / Connect Wallet".
  6. Click on the "Connect Hardware Wallet" button.
  7. A new tab will open and Phantom will detect your Ledger device.
  8. Select the Ledger account you want to connect and click on "Continue".
  9. You should now be able to see your Ledger account in Phantom.

Additional Notes:

  • You can repeat this process to connect addresses in one specific network (chain) only, or connect any other addresses you unselected before that you want to connect now.
  • You can also connect addresses from other Ledger devices if you have different ones like Nano S, Nano S Plus, and Nano X.
