So first, 39 HD :

Then, 43. I think you can tell at a glance that there's nothing left off the old page. It was kind of a pain in the ass to do, hence why it took so long. You can also tell at a glance that there's a lot more breathing room in between panel, it looks less crowded. I'm not sure it was necessary at all, I kinda feel like the old page just looks cooler from afar and that all actions depicted seem more dynamic and thus faster from how busy it all was. But whatever, I'm not redoing it now, it's not like it doesn't work with a seemingly slower pace.

So, why did the first panel change ? No real reason honestly. In fact i think I prefer the old one. But the old one didn't have much reason to look the way it did either. With the new one, I wanted to just shift the focus to Zee's tail being super... erect but it just looked awkward so it turned normal and now the panel just kinda is.

Since I changed the dialogue, old panel 2 didn't really have much of a purpose either so it's a close up now. The entire page is made of close-ups, it's the only time the remake just zooms in instead of zooming out. Panel 3 is the same, not that it's a ery interesting one.

As for the dialogue, since the tears were barely visible in the previous page, It felt uncalled for the have Zee talk about them. Instead one of the line of dialogue removed from the previous page finds its way there. Also the song lyrics in yellow and red... ugh that does look awful on the old page.

The rest of the page is mostly the same with some expression changes. I tried replicating Zee's old expression on panel 6 but it just looked weird so it changed. And on the next panel his eyes are more open, which kinda make him look unhinged compared to the old panel 7 but the reason his eyes weren't bigger back then is just because it was just how wide I ever thought to open his eyes. It's only a few pages later that I decided they should be bigger.

So that's that. Not my favorite out of the remakes by a long shot.

It might not look too astounding as a standalone page, but put in context of the remade pages before and after it, it flows really nicely. More space between the panels fits in with what you're doing to the comic overall. I'm also really happy to see the cut line "touch you all over" came back because I thought it was innocently sweet. And in general I'm glad for fewer tears and fewer sad faces. In the original last panel, Zee looked sad. Now he just looks wide eyed and mystified. Good change.
